Arms, legs, limbs, eyes, blood,\nsweat and life are not the only sacrifices. They sacrificed their time,\nmarriage, family time and safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most\nsoldiers being Buddhists believe in good deeds and bad and their inevitable\nconsequences. Taking life, right or wrong, is a bad deed resulting in suffering\nlife after life. Sadly, people cannot be saved from most barbaric Tamil\nterrorists without taking their lives. Knowing its consequences, soldiers rose\nup to the challenge. In doing so they have signed up for suffering life after\nlife. All this was done to save us and the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a\nbig difference between beliefs of a Christian, Hindu or an Islamic warrior\nkilling for a holy\u201d cause and a Buddhist soldier killing for the protection of\na people. The former lot are not only pardoned for their killing, but also\nrewarded as they believe. No such pardoning and rewarding is found in Buddhist\nbeliefs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Appreciating\nthese unparalleled sacrifices is only just. Those who find fault with soldiers\nfor warzone happenings and mishaps are ungrateful beings unworthy of human\nexistence in Sri Lanka.
