Ministry of Agriculture and Private Boat Builders and Yacht\/Leisure boat Operators \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Blue Economy \u2013Area to be developed <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Fishery\nSector<\/strong> Needs rapid revolutionary Accelerated\nDevelopment <ul><li>Private sector to be allowed\nto deploy several Mother Vessels  around the island to help fishermen to\nstore their catch in cold rooms and also assist with First Aid ,Fuel ,Water etc\nduring the week they stay in med sea catching fish <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Provide\nSpeed Boat&nbsp; Ambulance Service dedicated\nfor fishermen <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Develop\nCold room services in every fishery harbour with facilities to store fish for\nJapanese Market ( -60 Degrees for export <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Training\nSchools for fishing folks and &nbsp;provide land\nplots to build new large multiday fishing vessels with Seawater Ice generating\nequipment <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Comprehensive\nAnnual Inspection Service to be managed by Private Boat Building Repair Yards\nin Colombo .Negombo.Pandura ,Galle ,Mirrissa,Kudawalla &nbsp;etc and in Oluvil,Trinco &nbsp;,Point Pedro and Karainagar etc<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Establish\ndedicated Insurance Scheme based on Annual Fitness Check of boats &nbsp;for Fishermen to cover their families and\nBoats<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Establish\nsatellite monitoring system to control boat movement from neighborhood\ncountries <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Promote\nmore and more <em>Deep Sea Fish Cultivation<\/em>\nFarms for export <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Development\nof offshore Fish Processing and Canning factories for export and to make\nPoultry Feed <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Enhance\ninvolvement of Ocean University in Fishery Sector education and boat building\nwith ongoing South Korean Financing <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Enhance\nCold Chain logistics to transport fish into hinterland for local use at\naffordable prices <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Establish\nlaboratories to perdiodically check fish quality and monitor harvest of fish<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Development\nof Organic Vegetable growing technology using the principle of <strong>Aquaponics<\/strong>, a hybrid between aquaculture and hydroponics, uses\norganic fish waste to fertilise vegetables growth. Aquaponics works on a\ncircular system where water from fish tanks is filtered by the growing medium\nand the plants as they grow. The water is then returned to the fish tank\ncleaner than when it left.
