{"id":102128,"date":"2020-05-10T15:16:10","date_gmt":"2020-05-10T22:16:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lankaweb.com\/news\/items\/?p=102128"},"modified":"2020-05-10T15:17:50","modified_gmt":"2020-05-10T22:17:50","slug":"day-of-victory","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lankaweb.com\/news\/items\/2020\/05\/10\/day-of-victory\/","title":{"rendered":"Day of Victory"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Dr sarath obeysekera\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n<p>One of my friend living in the USA, doing quite well who studied in Russia and migrated send me following;\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Communist regime gave us an education and some of us served in our the \u00a0country for \u00a0few years and some left the country for greener pastures\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sine left the country some &nbsp;returned back to give\nsomething back to my motherland&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quote&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>, <em>it was 75 years ago in the very late evening of May 8th the Soviets defeated Nazi Germany.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Thanks to this great victory I was able to make a bunch of lifelong friends like you.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>I want to offer my humble gratitude to the 11 million-plus Soviet Soldiers (27 million casualties)who perished in this brutal war and also, to the soviet farmers, peasants, factory workers and the hard-working Soviet citizens who sacrificed their lives to rebuild the country and then provide people like us with the opportunity to succeed in our lives. <\/em>\ud83d\ude0a \ud83c\udf39<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u0421 \u0414\u041d\u0401\u041c \u041f\u041e\u0411\u0415\u0414\u042b !!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unquote<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have got our freedom or some call it independence from the crutches of British 72 years back.
