{"id":104978,"date":"2020-07-28T16:16:08","date_gmt":"2020-07-28T23:16:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lankaweb.com\/news\/items\/?p=104978"},"modified":"2020-07-28T16:16:08","modified_gmt":"2020-07-28T23:16:08","slug":"final-decision","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lankaweb.com\/news\/items\/2020\/07\/28\/final-decision\/","title":{"rendered":"Final Decision"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Viraj Kithsiri\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n<p>There are many a reason why someone should vote for a\nparticular party at this election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As usual we will be in a quandary to choose the right one\nif not yet decided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But what should really be the reason to make your final\ndecision?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The yahapalana regime&nbsp; may not have shown the worst\nof the President and Prime Minister dual because both embarked from the same\nparty and with an agreed plan at the outset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What would happen if they are from different parties with\ndifferent agendas?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clearly the President has declared a nationalistic\neconomy whereas both main opposing candidates argue for an open economy. That\nis just a beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And here we have now a President who is known to have a\nstrong head and leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will be very different to a lame soft spoken Sirisena\nif this President has to deal with an opposing candidate in the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For instance will he give into awarding&nbsp; twenty\nthousand or ten thousand rupees as promised&nbsp; at the election by the\nopposition?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if you vote with the hope of receiving this it is\nvery unlikely to materialize with this President in power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Out of many valid reasons the security of the country was\nthe most important at the last Presidential election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Should not this be the most important reason, to avoid a\ndual battle in the government that will be most harmful to the country that\nshould decide your final solution?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even in an unlikely scenario if any of those opposing\nparties is elected it will be a worse case scenario the general public will be\nleft to witness in disgust.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Viraj Kithsiri\u00a0 There are many a reason why someone should vote for a particular party at this election.
