What’s going\u00a0on Wiggy?\u00a0 You have exposed yourself indirectly that you bombed your Grade 8\u00a0\u00a0Ceylon History’<\/strong> subject and failed it miserably,\u00a0<\/strong>at Royal College, by giving\u00a0 a helluva-go to\u00a0usurp the Wanniyalaeto<\/em><\/strong> (Veddha) community’s rightful place as the indegenous peoples of Ceylon on behalf of your Tamils. You bluntly say that you Tamils were the first indigenous people that walked on the kabook\u00a0earth of Sri\u00a0Lanka. Prove\u00a0it Wiggy.\u00a0 Let us read your\u00a0thesis.\u00a0 Give me\/us a break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sheesh…..come again, Wiggy! What a string of masala wade,\nwith little shrimps fried painfully curled on top that I see around your neck. You have shown me how\nbankrupt you Tamils are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wanting to own a few hectares of\u00a0 the\u00a0best real estate of toddy-palm country saying to the world – “see there is no one else living here, other than\u00a0us Tamils.” <\/em><\/strong>So you sweep to ethnic cleanse the\u00a0land not with eikle brooms but with hand grenades, kalashnikovs, live\u00a0bullets and machetes\u00a0and then tell the world, “we were also the indigenous peoples<\/em><\/strong> who lived in the\u00a0North and East among the snakes, elephants, sloth bears, leopards, mosquitoes<\/em><\/strong> and\u00a0no one other human being<\/em><\/strong>. And we also speak the oldest\u00a0language in the world\u00a0–Tamil.\u00a0 \u00a0Whoopee-do!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

How you Tamil-nasties, ethnic-cleansed the North, by kicking\nout between 1971 and 1981, 27,000 Sinhalese who lived in the North for\ngenerations.   Then stoned and chased 400\nSinhalese lecturers and undergraduates in October 1977 from\nthe Jaffna campus, who were brought in a convoy of buses\nescorted by the army and police under a hail of missiles of rocks and\nstones. Now you are telling that you were the first people in the\nNorth under the scorching Jaffna-Kilinochchi sun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 What a way to own a piece of land to call it your\nmono-ethnic-racist- separatist Tamil state , Eelam.    I say, \n“Boo! Bully You,” to the separatist Tamils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for the Indigenous Veddas, let me tell you where I\nam coming from when I defend their place in Sri Lanka’s Human-\nhistory and their dignity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wiggy, I have an immense affection for indigenous peoples\nwho were given a bad rap by the invaders, especially the white-man.  It\nwas in 1970 that I was employed by Canada’s National Museums\nCorporation in Ottawa, to help build 15 brand-new Exhibition Halls at the\nVictoria Memorial Museum.   Four of them were of\nthe Indigenous peoples.  The People of the LongHouse<\/em><\/strong> (Iroquois\nIndians); The Buffalo Hunters <\/em><\/strong>(Plains Indians); Inuit <\/em><\/strong>(The\nEskimos) and The Children of the Raven  <\/em><\/strong>(West Coast Cultures like\nthe Haida). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I knew nothing about them when I started  on\nthe job.  But I read  about them , understood them. and I\nmet them.  I grew a great affinity towards them and developed a\ngreat sympathy for them. They commanded my respect, and believe me I gave\nthem back their dignity and the rightful place in Canadian Human History\nin the National Museum of Man for every visitor to read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And you take my word Wiggy.  Unless you know the\ntruth about our Indigenous peoples, the Veddhas,  I want you to take a\nstep back, and zip up your lips.  You are not going to\ndestroy the dignity of these beautiful indigenous Wanniyalaetoes\n<\/em><\/strong>of ours.  You bet, you will hear from me as often, like the\nKataragama coconut-bashing-cracks when cracking the nuts, to break all\nnegative qualities  to find a new pure soul with all goodness, as you\nsure need it.  You bet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wiggy, I have now added, you,  C.V.Wigneswaran as\nanother bankrupt Tamil-politician  “a crap-shooter\nthrough the eye of a needle” <\/em>trying to gain prominence\nas a legitimate Tamil in my Motherland , Sri Lanka.  Your name is\nbehind Appapillai Amirthlalingam’s in my records  who\ngot caught as a God-damn liar when he told to some Canadian parliamentarians in\nthe late 1980s, when he swore to Robert Wenman the Conservative MP for Fraser\nValley in British Columbia,  that , “We\nTamils never asked for a separate State, carved out of the North<\/em><\/strong> and East of Sri Lanka.” <\/em><\/strong> I\nhuffed and I puffed and told Robert, I don’t believe you.  I doubt\nAmirthalingam would ever say that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Asoka,<\/strong> I got him recorded on\ntape.  Come home and I will show it to you”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I went\u00a0to Robert Wenman’s\u00a0home at\u00a0Hog’s Back the\u00a0following evening.\u00a0 He took me to his basement and ran the\u00a0VHS tape projecting the image onto a white wall.\u00a0 And there\u00a0was Amirthalingam standing in his\u00a0white vetti, and uttering\u00a0those\u00a0words with all honesty and innocence as a celestial\u00a0seraph.\u00a0 “Robert,\u00a0 this rascal<\/em><\/strong> is an unconscionable liar.\u00a0 I will\u00a0bring\u00a0you\u00a0some material published in black and\u00a0white to prove that I am right when I call him a “Bloody\u00a0uncouth liar”. And I will come by you two evenings later and you tell me what you\u00a0concluded about this\u00a0Tamil politician who is lobbying for their\u00a0Eelam and introduced\u00a0by the Canadian Speaker of the House of Commons to the MPs. and he takes a bow of honour standing\u00a0in the gallery.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well…well…Wiggy, the final outcome was, Robert Wenman,\nthe Conservative MP for Fraser Valley in\nBritish Columbia tells me, “Asoka I am very\nembarrassed.  I want to tell you truthfully, that this guy took us down\nthe garden path into a black Hell-hole.  I apologize to all you\nSinhalese-Canadians for commenting on this issue without making an effort\nto understand their cunning when lobbying for my support.   I\ntook copies of what you gave me and distributed among\na few of my colleagues, who have now got quite a different notion of\nthese Tamil separatists in Canada. They are frauds!”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This stupid, unsophisticated, humbuggery, and crude act will\ntell the world that your  racist disingenuous  Tamil politicians\nwould stoop  low to anything to claim that the northern hectares of the\nbest realestates of toddy-palm country were yours, the  Tamils.  What\npoppycock,Wiggy.  What stinking barrels of jardi!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here is a story, that you may not know whether to laugh\nat, or cry or look up and spit at yourself, ashamed of being made to look a\nstupid Tamil by your own people. Ha! and a former Supreme Court Justice.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let me roll back the years to 1986. \nThe month was September, and the day, Sunday the 21st.  It was around\n8:30 in the evening and the place was a small  bungalow in Vanier,\nEast Ottawa, and the address was 405 Dollard Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That was the  day when Ronald Regan  (Republican)\nwas President of the US; and Margaret Thatcher was Prime Minister of\nthe UK.  That was the day when most of Sri Lanka’s cricket hungry people\nwere rooting for your Mother-India, to win the First Cricket Test against\nAustralia, and let off a great sigh of relief when the match was tied at\nthe end.  Australia First Innings <\/strong> (574 – 7 dec. Dean\nJones 210, David Boon 122) & Second Innings <\/strong>( 170 – 5 :David\nBoon 49) vs India First Innings<\/strong> 397  (Kapil Dev 119) & 347\n(Sunil Gaveshkar 90). Tied.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

That was the evening when Yours truly was\ninterviewed and recorded on camera by Robin Benger,  for the  CBC’s\nNational on Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner, former Sri Lanka’s Army Commander,\n“Bull” Weeratunga,  who was hounded day in and day out, as\na Tamil torturer by the Ottawa Tamil separatists, led by the Roman Catholic\npriest from Vuvuniya, a Tamil, Fr. Philip Ratnapala,  in a black\ncassock with his<\/strong> white collar starched towards heaven.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the almost one-hour interview was recorded and\nthe camera was switched off and on his way out of the door Robin turned to\nme and asked, “So I will see you tomorrow morning, won’t\nI”).  <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Why should I Robin, what is going on?”\u00a0 “Why, don’t you know. They are\u00a0flying over a Tamil refugee<\/em><\/strong> from\u00a0Paris, a Baby Para (Pararajasegaram) who says that the former Army Commander “Bull” Weeratunga, the present High Commissioner for Sri Lanka in Canada, supervised\u00a0when he was tortured by the\u00a0army soldiers.\u00a0 There will be a Press Conference\u00a0 tomorrow (Monday, Sept. 22) morning at the Holiday\u00a0Inn on Queen Street\/Kent Street at 10 in the morning.”\u00a0<\/em><\/strong> And he gave me the room number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Robin, I will make an effort to be there” <\/em><\/strong>was\nmy response.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Knowing that I will be confronted by Philip Rathnapala who\nhated my guts, I asked Lionel Edirisinghe, a dear friend of mine, who\nworked close to the Holiday Inn, whether he could join me in this\nventure.  “Sure”<\/em><\/strong>, he said. “Let’s meet\nat the Holiday Inn’s foyer at 9:55 in the morning and walk up. \nLionel all what I want you to do for me is that, if I am beaten up by the\nTamils and taken to Hospital, please call Jeannie at work and tell her\nwhat happened and that I am in hospital.  Here’s her office\ntelephone number,  613-995-xxxx.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Monday morning, at 9:55 I was in the Foyer of the Holiday\nInn.  Lionel  hadn’t arrived, and I walked up to the room where the\nPress Conference was going to take place.  The room was chocker-\nblock full of media people, with video cameras, boom microphones\nand handheld  mics et cetera.   Father Philip Ratnapala in\na black suit  wearing a clerical shirt fitted with a white collarino\nstarched towards heaven was sitting at a table near the entrance. \nBeside Ratnapala was an Asian looking man sitting beside him who I presumed was\nPararajasegaram.  No sooner Philip spotted me, he pointed his finger at me\nand told his security men, “I don’t want him here.  He is not a\nmedia reporter.” <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two burly Tamils crowded me. and held onto my upper\narms.  Wiggy, I never liked intimidation,\nspecially when it happens to be from Tamils.  No bloody way.  Since\nit was an open meeting I looked at these two burly Tamils and said, “Yes,\nI am from the media reporting for a Sri Lanka paper.”<\/em><\/strong> \n “Show me your credentials” <\/em><\/strong>spoke Ratnapala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No sooner did I start to fumble my pockets in search of\na non-existent  media card, Dr. Elugupillai a nuclear-physicist, the head\nhoncho of the Eelam separatist movement in Ottawa, walked in. Seeing the\ncommotion  he wanted to know what was going on. The cameras focused on me\nand started to roll.  Elagu was told by Ratnapala that he did not want me\nin the room, Elagu placed his right arm on my shoulders and said, “No,\nAsoka can stay”<\/em><\/strong>, and walked me into the room. Although Elagu\nand I were antagonists, we were civil to each other, and I liked him in a\nfunny sort of a way.  I will certainly break bread anytime\nwith him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lionel Edirisinghe walked into the room about 20 minutes\nafter the Press Conference started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wiggy, this Press Conference\u00a0was a sham, a Canadian-Tamil Blaney Gong Show<\/em><\/strong> of Tamil Humbugs. <\/em><\/strong>One more proof positive that you Tamils were bankrupt, unable\u00a0to prove that you all had every right, ethnologically, ethnographically,\u00a0 historically, archaeologically, anthropologically\u00a0 that the North and East, toddy-palm\u00a0 country’s\u00a0 best real estate belonged to you Tamils.\u00a0 Wiggy,\u00a0 you know as well as I know, that\u00a0you Tamils\u00a0 don’t have a snowball chance\u00a0in hell to prove it.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After about 40 minutes into the press conference, I\nwalked out in disgust, and Lionel followed me.  Five reporters came\nrunning after us and caught up with us by the elevator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Who are you Sir, why are you leaving, are\nyou Sinhalese, Sir”<\/em><\/strong>, were some of the questions thrown at us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I am Asoka Weerasinghe, and he\u00a0is Lionel Edirisinghe. We are leaving with absolute disgust.\u00a0 All what<\/em><\/strong> you heard from\u00a0these Tamils were complete lies.\u00a0 All of them\u00a0who\u00a0spoke to you were humbugs.\u00a0 And we are not Sinhalese and both of us are Canadians.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Listen Wiggy, switch on your hearing aids, as I want \nyou to hear the rest of my story clearly. As it  will prove to you that\nyou Tamil separatists are crass-puss-vedilla<\/em><\/strong> -liars, and God damn\nHumbugs to boot.  And you Wiggy, the  Justice of the\nSupreme Court, and the former Chief Minister of the mainly Tamil\nNorthern Province should be ashamed of yourself.  And if I were you, I\nwould rub off that red third eye of yours that clearly identifies you as a\nTamil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Around 3:30 that afternoon  the phone in my office\nrang.  And the caller says – “Sir, may I speak\nwith Mr. Asoka Weerasinghe.”  “Yes, this is he.” \n“Mr. Weerasinghe, I am Dan Ledger, a senior reporter for\nthe Canadian Press.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will it be possible for me to meet up with you to get\na handle on the High Commissioner “Bull” Weeratunga\nstory, that he is a Tamil torturer, and your take on Baby Para’s\ntorture story.  I saw you at the Press Conference this morning, and\nVictor Parson’s our Deputy Bureau Chief, told me that  if I want to\nfind out the true story, speak with Asoka Weerasinghe as he will tell you the\nfacts and truthfully.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So we met at noon the following day at the Japanese\nVillage on Kent Street.  “<\/em>Make a note of the following\ninformation which will destroy any credibility you Tamils\never had. Wiggy.” <\/strong>  During our conversation I\nasked,  “Dan, did you wonder  what the heck was\ngoing on at the Press Conference.   You reporters \nask  Baby Para a two sentence question in English.  These two\nsentences in English were translated into Tamil by a translator in three\nsentences.   Baby Para responds to the three Tamil sentence question,\nin Tamil in four sentences. And those four Tamil sentences were translated\nfor the media’s ears in English in 25 to 30 sentences.  And it happened\nevery time. Did you notice that, Dan?  As if they had  a\nplanned script of their story, hoping that it would pick up ink  as a\nnews story in the newspapers the following morning.  A news story\ncrucifying High Commissioner ‘Bull’ Weeratunga as a Tamil torturer,\nviolating codes of Human Rights.  And hoping that it would have been\na good reason for Canada to declare him a <\/strong><\/em>persona non grata and\ngetting him recalled.    Thus embarrassing Sri Lanka and her\nForeign Ministry. Hmmmm…cunning rascals.”  Lucky for Sri\nLanka, that happened to be a “Puus vedilla.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Funny you brought it up Asoka.\u00a0 After\u00a0the Tamil press\u00a0conference\u00a0in Ottawa\u00a0in the morning they had another one in\u00a0Toronto in the\u00a0evening.\u00a0 We sent our most senior reporter\u00a0to cover it for Canadian Press.\u00a0 What transpired was the same.\u00a0 The final three sentences in Tamil by Baby Para, had a 30 sentences\u00a0translation\u00a0 in English.\u00a0 And our reporter\u00a0had found\u00a0out that\u00a0the\u00a0Tamil translator\u00a0couldn’t speak a word of Tamil.”\u00a0 “Forget it,” <\/em><\/strong>he reported back.\u00a0It\u00a0 was a strange farce and a scam\u00a0 led by the Roman Catholic priest Philip Ratnapala.\u00a0 There won’t be<\/em><\/strong> a report on Baby Para’s intervention\u00a0 to nail\u00a0 Sri Lanka High Commissioner “Bull” Weeratunga, the former\u00a0Army Chief as a torturer,”\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0I was told.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That was it Wiggi.\u00a0 You are the\u00a0legal\u00a0man, the one time Supreme\u00a0Court\u00a0Justice.\u00a0 And I hope that you see\u00a0what I see in those\u00a0Tamil separatists…a bunch of Dodos…what an embarrassing bunch of morons, a bunch of\u00a0arrack spiked-kanji\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>drinking tipsy fools.\u00a0 \u00a0Go figure that one out, Wiggy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As that little bird that flew onto my windowsill and\nasked me…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The little birdie with a yellow bill<\/em><\/strong>
sat upon my windowsill,<\/em><\/strong>
cocked his shining eye and said<\/em><\/strong>
about the separatist-Tamils<\/em><\/strong>
“What a bunch of pea-brain heads.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, I know…I know..Wiggy…when you Tamils are bankrupt\nyou try any which way to claim the Northern Toddy-palm country hectares for\nyour mono-ethnic, Tamil racist state, Eelam, that you will hold onto any weak\nstraw to anchor yourself, and try any shenanigan, nevermind  whether\nyou look a bunch of fools and scammers. When you yourself suffer\nfrom a false historical perspective, it doesn’t look good for\nthe future generations of your Tamil clan in Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the Baby Para’s laughable  side cameo, in\nthat bit of theatre, you all looked like clowns of the Chelva-Ponna\nCircus.  <\/strong>Aren’t you getting tired of it.  Haro..hara !<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And here is my personal message to you Wiggy – <\/em><\/strong> I\nam a true Sinhalese patriot still romancing my Mother Lanka and still\nattached to her with the umbilical cord, and on a Mission in\nCanada.  That no one, absolutely no one is going to harm her \nunfairly, and that  includes You…So get off my back!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My advice to you Wiggy, is to take a step back, and cut your\nmythical dream of living in your Eelam inside the island of Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Be safe, and do wear a mask when you step out of\nyour house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
