The Indian proxy\nDayan Jayatilleke in his latest pro-American, pro-Indian article written to Sri\nLanka Guardian and reproduced by Financial Times assuming the the status of the\nHeads of the Pentagon and the White House, the American institutions\nresponsible for molding its future policies states that the Biden-Harris \u2018event\u2019 with the change of the global zeitgeist will\nimpact Sri Lanka\u2019s political destiny. He\nsays that history will show that this was the turning point, where the world\nsaw democracy alive, decline of Trump\u2019s institutional obstructionism and\npolarizing incitement of far-right passions and the Biden-Harris victory marks\nthe birth of a new American consciousness, with globalised resonance because the USA is more a mirror of the world,\nof humanity in all its plurality, than is any other country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the sub-heading Lessons for Lanka this treacherous\nwriter states that the planetary\npolitical pandemic of autocratic Alt-Right ultranationalism has just had its\ncurve flattened in its epicenter – the country of its most dramatic height, the\nUSA and Sri Lanka\u2019s likeminded regime will feel secure that with the 20th\nAmendment and the grip it has on the institutions and electoral process, the ruthlessness\nwill be its recourse to pre-empt a replay of the fate of its hero President\nTrump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\nWhile the Biden-Harris \u2018event\u2019 won\u2019t translate immediately and unmediated, into\na decisive impact on Sri Lanka, the\nchange in the global zeitgeist and the world          correlation of forces, starting with the\noverall balance of \u2018soft power\u2019, will transform the regime\u2019s environmental\nconditions of existence and \u2018overdetermine\u2019 Sri Lanka\u2019s  political destiny. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Continuing his baseless diatribe, he\nstates that GR presidential project was socially and psychologically powered by\nTrump\u2019s 2016 victory. The\nGotabaya regime this stupid guy says came into being as the last victory of\nglobal Alt-Right ultranaionalism, the parabola \nof which has begun its descent with Trump\u2019s defeat. The regime\u2019s\nexternal factors of existence constitute a tripod: Trump and Trumpism; Israel\u2019s\nNetanyahu, Netanyahu\u2019s Israel; and Xi\u2019s China.

\nQuoting from a writing of Ben Rhodes, former American President Obama\u2019s  Deputy National Security Advisor he adds For\nthe last decade, the political project of an increasingly far-right Republican\nParty has become enmeshed with other right-wing movements in Brazil\u2026and\nelsewhere\u2026Right-wing parties share sources of financing, media and\ndisinformation platforms, political strategies, and consultants.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ridiculing Sri Lanka this\ntreacherous writer states that  The \u2018Late Trumpist\u2019 Lankan regime\u2019s tripod\njust lost a leg. The second leg is Benjamin Netanyahu\u2019s Israel. Biden is staunchly pro-Israel but he\u2019s\nalso pro- \u2018two state\u2019 peace. Netanyahu will be hoping that a Biden victory will\nnot help his rival-cum-partner Benny Ganz, a more promising peace\npartner. The third leg  he says is\nPresident Xi\u2019s China. In a reopened dialogue between the USA (with India in its\ncorner) and China, that leg may prove flexibly retractable, and even if it\ndoesn\u2019t, perching on that particular leg will make the regime more vulnerable\nin the coming global re-set.

\nThe pig headed Dayan points out that Trump\/Biden example shows that\nTrumpism (the Sinhala Buddhist supremacy in Sri Lankan context as he perceives)\ncan be electorally defeated in a single term at a Presidential election. While\nit was a protracted struggle for the electoral college, culminating in victory,\nit was a much clearer sweep in the popular vote. Biden-Harris polled the\nhighest number of votes that any presidential ticket did in US history, beating\nTrump by almost five million votes. 
\n
\nIn a presidential system with a direct popular election, it is perfectly\npossible to defeat a majoritarian-supremacist autocratic President in a single\nterm. As Bolivia recently showed with the first round 55% win for the Movement\nfor Socialism candidate Luis Arce, this is perfectly possible even against a\ntougher-than-Trump de facto dictatorial regime\u2026which killed protestors\u201d\n(President Arce).
\n
\nThis would be especially so if, like Trump, the incumbent President has been a\nsuccess in other fields but has zero-experience of legislation and governance,\nand faces a progressive democratic candidate who by contrast, has considerable\npolitical experience. Sri\nLanka\u2019s democratic challenger lost to the incumbent President at the zenith of\nthe latter\u2019s post-Easter\/pre-corona popularity as candidate, by only 10%\n(52%-42%). He conveniently avoides the subsequent mammoth 2\/3 victory achieved\nin the August 5th<\/sup> General Election.
\n
\n<\/strong>This Indian servile poodle says that Sri Lankan democrats and\nliberal\/neoliberal civil society intelligentsia must abandon their colonial\nhang-up on the Westminster model and absurd three-decade-long fixation on the\nabolition of the executive presidency (\u2018contact traceable\u2019 to the abortive\nanti-Premadasa impeachment and the reactionary DUNF breakaway). What ended up\nabolished was not the executive presidency, but the UNP which was the project\u2019s\nvehicle. The executive presidency stands reinforced.

\nHe says that the USA proves (as\ndoes Bolivia) that however autocratic the President, the task of democrats is\nnot to abolish the Presidency, but to WIN the Presidency, defeating that\nPresident and adds that the former Obama strategist David Axelrod\ncorrectly said on CNN after the victory that Biden is a Centre-Left Democrat\nwith a progressive agenda\u201d. When the neoliberal-globalist Hillary Clinton was\nhis opponent, Trump broke through the \u2018blue wall\u2019 that Bill Clinton and Barack\nObama had built and Joe Biden rebuilt it. He asserts that Biden is an\nauthentically caring, empathetic man with an appeal to the blue-collar working\npeople of the white majority (who had deserted the party during the Hillary\nClinton candidacy), able to breakthrough in the American heartland which\nHillary had lost for the Democrats, while constructing the broadest anti-Trump\ncoalition, especially with the African-American community which voted\noverwhelmingly for him.

\nIn a lesson for Sri Lanka\u2019s ethnic\/religious minorities, the Black community\ndidn\u2019t support the ideologically advanced Bernie Sanders (backed by young,\ncollege-educated whites) as they did that Democrat who could reassure the white\nmajority and break through to it, giving the best chance of victory.
\n
\nUnder the subheading Chinese wall  this Indian\nservile poodle says that it could be d\u00e9j\u00e0 vu all over again\u201d: the tale of the\ntwo submarines, he asks what could be the wider effect of the optics and the\ndiscourse of the SLPP-Chinese Communist Party seminar on Governance, including\na banner with the symbols of the CPC in one corner and the Pohottuwa in the\nother, and the reference to the relationship of the ruling parties\u201d? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He asserts that as the newspapers reported: Minister\nSong Tao of the International Department of Central Committee of CPC, Party\nSecretary Liu Cigui of CPC Provincial Committee of Hainan Province, SLPP\nChairman Professor G.L. Peiris, Secretary General Sagara Kariyawasam, SLPP MPs\nincluding Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, Namal Rajapaksa and Ramesh Pathirana\ntogether with some State Ministers and Mayors from the Western Province\nparticipated in the meeting. 
\n
\nHe further states thaty Ambassador Qi Zhenhon had emphasized that the\nexperience sharing between the two ruling parties would play an important role\nin bilateral cooperation in the post-COVID era to come, and as ruling parties,\nCPC and SLPP should enhance experience sharing so as to better leading the two\nGovernments and the two peoples for a brighter future.\u201d\u2019
\n
\nHe also states that it was President Gotabaya Rajapaksa who decided, in\nconversation with President Xi, and later with Politburo member Yang Jiechi, on\ntaking the party-to-party relationship, as distinct from the purely\nstate-to-state or government-to-government relationship, to the next level and\nthe Chinese Embassy Spokesperson Luo Chong said that the meeting was aimed at\nimplementing a consensus reached by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and President\nXi Jinping in their telephone conversation as well as the recent high-level\nvisit of top leader Yang Jiechi to Colombo.\u201d

\nCommenting further, he states thattThe event was billed as an Opening Ceremony\nof CPC-SLPP Advanced Seminar on Governance Experience\u201d, and asks would the\nGovernance Experience\u201d that the SLPP absorbed at this seminar make its way\ninto the new Constitution? This stupid contrary to what has been achieved\nthrough election results claims that the SLPP is not a ruling party in the systemic\nsense that the CPC is and unless that transformation is the goal and enquires\nwhether the regime seek to entrench itself behind a Chinese wall of an \u2018Asiatic\nabsolutist\u2019 constitutional\/political order? 
\n
\nDelving further on the subject, he further asserts that the SLPP-CPC dialogue\non Governance took place in the immediate aftermath of Pompeo\u2019s messaging on\nhis Sri Lanka visit, and while a naval exercise of the Quad was underway in the\nBay of Bengal. Mike Pompeo was careful to target the Chinese Communist Party\nmore often than China as such, an interesting attempt at an implicit\ndistinction between state-to-state or intergovernmental relations, and the\nalleged expansionist impulse of the Chinese CP.

\nHe points out that just as the Trump administration built on Obama\u2019s \u2018Pivot to\nAsia\u2019 (minus the Trans-Pacific Partnership), the Biden administration will\nbuild on elements of Trump\u2019s China policy,just as the policy of \u2018containment\u2019\nof the USSR was essentially bipartisan, albeit with varying emphases, so too\nwill be the policy of the \u2018containment\u2019 of China.  
\n
\nIn his American pampering this foreign servile poodle says that the US\nDemocrats are even more focused than the Republicans on the issue of democracy\nvs. the projection of China\u2019s governance model by the CPC. On this, there is a\nbipartisan consensus and moreover, if Michelle Flournoy handles China policy,\nthe Biden administration\u2019s approach will be smarter and sharper in both soft\nand hard power dimensions. 
\n
\nTie this into the recently reinforced American relationship with India (billed\nas a relationship between \u2018the world\u2019s two greatest democracies\u2019) which lies at\nthe cente of the Quad, itself billed as an alliance of democracies. The Quad\nhas a back-office backstop: The Five Eyes, an old (1951) but recently\nre-energised partnership for intelligence integration, comprising the US, UK,\nCanada, Australia and New Zealand, he explains.
\n
\nThat\u2019s the substructure\/infrastructure in place. Add the coming\n\u2018superstructure\u2019: Biden\u2019s stated commitment (in a landmark Foreign Affairs\nessay) to what I call \u2018democratic internationalism\u2019 \u2013 a global mobilisation and\nvigorous offensive, advancing the values of democracy and human rights while\nexplicitly targeting autocracy and ultranationalism.
\n
\nThis Indian poodle discloses that there is a\npolitico-corporate-managerial-bureaucratic-institutional conglomerate in\nColombo with an economic stake in its vocation as China lobby\/client, but\nBeijing\u2019s umbrella will not sustainably extend so far south in the Indian\nOcean, and it will be vulnerable to an Indo-US pincer or Quad encirclement, and\nbe rolled up. In the great game in the Indo-Pacific, he saysSri Lanka may prove\na dispensable bargaining chip, traded-in to protect a stake elsewhere. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under subheading International relations 101he\npoints out that Sri Lanka\u2019s\nrulers must know that in international politics, being within your rights when\nyou choose to do something, is only one factor in the mix, and not the\ndeterminant, nor is being in the right in your own eyes.

\nWhat counts ultimately, this treacherous commentator says,  is whether what you do, best serves your\nnational interest, defined not as the interest of an ethnic\/religious\ncommunity, ruling party, ruling family or corporate-bureaucratic stratum, but\nthe State and its citizenry and adds that in making that calculation it is\nimportant to know what the threat perceptions of others are and how your\nactions or inactions impact on those threat perceptions, what they might do\nabout it, and whether you are capable of deterring, countering or absorbing\ntheir actions\/counteractions.   
\n
\nOnce again pampering the Americans, he says that in the confident speech\nimmediately preceding the Pennsylvania result, Joe Biden staked a global claim,\nsaying there\u2019s no reason that America cannot own the 21st century\u201d. That riff\non TIME\/Life founder Henry Booth Luce\u2019s definition of the 20th century as The\nAmerican Century\u201d may be over-ambitious for the 21st, because China apparently\naspires to the same goal, and Russia to multipolarity, with both states\nentitled to fair and adequate space and status, commensurate with their\nachievement and power. 
\n
\nThen he says that in his victory speech Biden said at its best, America is a\nbeacon for the globe\u2026we will lead not only by the example of our power but by\nthe power of our example\u201d, adding it\u2019s always been a bad bet to bet against\nAmerica.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under another subheading Let freedom ring!\u201d this\ntreacherous poodle asks What\nif the Trump presidency was not, and had not been, constitutionally\nconstrained? With presidential power unchecked and militarism rampant, liberty\nin Sri Lanka has no safeguards, enjoys no guarantees. The objectively enabling\nrole that any external power assumes in relation to domestic tyrannical\ntendencies must therefore be externally contained and countervailed\u201d and adds this\nis so not only in Sri Lanka.
\n
\nHe points out that humanity\u2019s main threat today comes from the narrowing and\ndarkening of human consciousness through parochial ultranationalism, racism and\nsupremacism; the retrogression in human and social progress through reversion\nto tyranny and despotism; the anarchic breakup \u2013 not progressive\ntransformation\u2014of the world system through the irruption of walled-in\nultranationalist tyrannies; and the sporadic, opportunistic, enabling and\/or\nconsolidation by rising great powers of these retrogressive trends and adds\nthat the absence of a common, science-driven global response to COVID-19 and\nthe much larger danger of climate change are symptoms of this situation.
\n
\nHe further states that humanity has to be reunited; the human consciousness\nbroadened and enlightened; for internationalism to be reborn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In conclusion of his article, he\nsays that the ideas and ideals of the Biden-Harris campaign (including those of\nprogressive and left Democrats) must be transferred and transmitted globally,\nuninterruptedly extended and expanded into an internationalist project of\ndemocratic solidarity against tyranny and for freedom, liberty, equality and\njustice and states that the new American revolution must be universalized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the\nJVP\u2019s nationalist nominee, the pseudo-Marxist and Tamil chauvinist Kumar\nDavid(KD) in an article written to Colombo Telegraph under the title USA is\nless racist and bigoted than Sri Lanka\u201d says that he had been a critic\nof American capitalism and imperialism, but on one point he had been firm and\nit was that America (and some other liberal democratic countries) are less\nracist, bigoted, and culturally primitive on these matters, than Sri Lanka,\nIndia, Burma, Japan and Islamic majority states. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This\nTamil chauvinist and pseudo-Marxist states that America has now elected a\nperson of colour of Indian Tamil origin as vice-president, and elected its\nsecond ever Catholic president; Kennedy was the first. He asks whether anyone\nin Sri Lanka can imagine the day when a Muslim non-Buddhist will be president\nof Sri Lanka or a Tamil not a Sinhalese prime minister?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Tamil chauvinist asserts that he cannot  foresee the day when something like Black-Lives-Matter\nwhich mobilized tens of thousands of whites, unfolds in the majority community\nin Sri Lanka against carnage such as the 1983 massacre or violence against\nMuslims. MIRJE (Movement for Inter-Racial Justice and Equality) was led by\nFather Paul Caspersz a Burger Catholic and his principal lieutenants were a\nTamil Catholic and a raceless Marxist. The radical monk of recent times,\nSobitha Thero with whom he says he hsas  worked did not actively intervene against anti-minority\npogroms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On an allied matter, this Tamil chauvinist and pseudo-Marxist\nasserts that once again he renews his call for a National Cabinet to defeat\ncovid. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Referring to American elections, he states that Biden has risen\nabove partisanship and gone all out in a quest for national unity. He is facing\na far worse covid and other challenges. By national cabinet he says that he\nrefers to something like Churchill\u2019s War Cabinet to meet an existential\nchallenge after which parties resume their identities. There have been, and\nprobably there will be no takers for his suggestion, he adds. Gota, Mahinda,\nSajith and Sampanthan are too small minded to see the point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
