John Lennon<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

John Lennon who was an inspirational\ncharacter changed music in a new direction. He was one of the key figures in\nthe Post War generation whose music and ideology changed the world. Lennon was\na humanitarian. He condemned the violence and truthfully worked for peace. John\nLennon\u2019s music, philosophy, and mission are still adored by millions of people.\nHe is an immortal in people\u2019s hearts. Lennon was born to a working-class family\nin Liverpool in 1940. His childhood was disrupted and when he was a teenager his\nmother got killed in an accident. All the suffering he felt in his heart was\nexpressed in the form of lyrics in later years. In 1956 he met Paul McCartney\nwhich was a turning point in his life. They began writing songs together and\nformed the most popular group of all time the Beatles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Beatles were young revolutionists\nin the field of music. Where ever they went they captured the hearts of\nmillions creating a Beatle\u2019s mania. John Lennon was considered the most\nenergetic and the driving force behind the Beatles. John was enthusiastic and\ntransforming into a new wave. When he met his future wife and the soul\ncompanion Yoko Ono they began to work collaboratively. The Beatles pronounced\ntheir official breakup in 1970. With the breakup, Lennon began his solo career\nin a more advanced way. Lennon\u2019s songs began exploring profoundly political,\npsychological, and existential themes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John Lennon\u2019s song Imagine is one of\nthe greatest songs of all time an anthem of universal hope. In this song,\nLennon tells us about an imaginary world where people live in peace and\nharmony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further says \u2026.
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One critic described Lennon\u2019s\nmasterpiece Imagine as thus<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imagine,\u201d the song, was unquestionably\nLennon\u2019s finest moment. Its lyrical and conceptual clarity shone sunlight of\nvision upon our dark and violent world. It urged us to imagine a world without\nproperty, without religion, without nations, living in peace. It postulated an\neconomic order in which both greed and hunger would be impossible\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John Lennon provided the intellectual,\npolitical, and aesthetic influence to nations. They openly protested against\nthe Vietnam war. John Lennon began to make history with his painfully honest\nand political songs. He wanted to change the world but not through violence.\nLennon clearly gives this message in his song Revolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You say you want a revolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me that it\u2019s evolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don\u2019t you know that you can count me out?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

October 1968 Lennon recorded Give\nPeace a Chance\u201d now which is a motto of the peace-loving community. His\u201dNowhere\nMan\u201d on Rubber Soul\u201d (1965) carried a philosophical as well as psychological\ntheme which described alienation. He was sort of the vicar of Art Rock.\nLennon\u2019s songwriting genius was uncanny. Author John Stevens explains Lennon\u2019s\nintuitive talent from a technical point of view, through the lens of\nsongwriting three basic elements: melody, harmony, and lyric.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John Lennon\u2019s mission was unexpectedly\nstopped on December 8, 1980. When Lennon was returning with Ono to their Dakota\napartment in New York City he was shot by Mark David Chapman a Beatles fan and\na person who suffered paranoid delusions. Although Lennon is dead his music\nlegacy continues still inspiring people around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Until his prey returned with Yoko
He was a nowhere man from nowhere land
But he made his plans to kill somebody
As Chapman said
I was nobody until I killed somebody<\/p>\n\n\n\n
