The first copy of the book was presented to the Chief Guest, H.E\nMr. Ittipol Khunplume, the Minister of Culture of Thailand. The message issued\non the Anniversary by H.E Mahinda Rajapaksa, the Hon. Prime Minister and\nMinister for Culture, Buddha Sasana and Religious Affairs of Sri Lanka, was\nread by Sri Lanka\u2019s Ambassador to Thailand H.E Mrs. Samantha K. Jayasuriya.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through the Niiras poems, the author expresses\nhis feelings on his tours around Sri Lankan Buddhist Trails and other places,\nas well as activities of interest to a Thai traveller. Given the parallels in\nproviding eloquent descriptions on places, nature, people en route to a\nparticular destination, by both the Niras Poems and the Sri Lankan \u2018Sandesha\nKavya\u201d, the audience was entertained with the recital of Niras poems in Thai\nlanguage, and poems from the \u2018Mayura Sandeshaya\u2019 and the \u2018Selalihini\nSandeshaya\u2019, demonstrating the Rhythmic variations of the Poems. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Anil Sirimanna, the Commerce\nCounsellor of the Embassy facilitated the editorial board in the preparatory\nprocess of the book launch, and the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB)\nhas supported the book, as a tool of promoting Sri Lankan Buddhist Trails among\nthe Thai Public.
