E. Mrs. Pham Thi Bich Ngoc accompanied by Mr. Tran\nTrong Thanh, Counselor and Deputy Head of the Embassy met the Prime Minister at\nhis residence in Wijerama this morning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nAmbassador voiced her appreciation regarding the uninhibited support she\nreceived from the Government throughout her tenure. She highlighted few areas\nof bilateral developments achieved during her time in Sri Lanka. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Historically\nboth nations have shared a strong bond over Buddhism, Ambassador Pham Thi Bich\nNgoc said, and now along with religious ties both nations are also looking to\nstrengthen other areas like trade relations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both the\nPrime Minister and Ambassador discusssed strengthening and sharing of know how\nand best practices between the two nations in the agricultural and fisheries\nsectors. Both Vietnam and Sri Lanka also have few student exchange programs\nthat are currently ongoing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nAmbassador recalled the Prime Ministers visit to Vietnam in 2009 during his\nPresidency and she invited him to visit Vietnam again. Whilst thanking the\nPrime Minister for the meeting, she said that she believed her successor would\nenjoy the same support she has received over the years representing her country\nin Sri Lanka and that the relationship between both nations will further\nflourish to mutually benefit both. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Prime\nMinister wished the outgoing Ambassador the very best in all her future\nendeavors and thanked her for the continued support and friendship of the\nleadership and people of Vietnam. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Gamini\nSenerath, Secretary to the Prime Minister joined the Prime Minister for the\nmeeting.&nbsp; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prime Minister\u2019s Media Unit Outgoing Ambassador of Vietnam, H.
