Sirisena\u2019s betrayal <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Nandasena started where Sirisena ended.\u2019 That is the perception\nin the minds of many people in the country, today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sirisena betrayed the country and her soldiers in 2015 when he\nco-sponsored an anti-Sri Lankan Resolution containing the usual invective and\nunsubstantiated accusations, disgorged regularly from the poop-houses in\nWashington.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sirisena is considered today a traitor by most, if not all, Sri\nLankans and history will condemn him so. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is Nandasena back-stabbing Dinesh?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where is Nandasena hoping to pitch his tent in 2021 when the UNHRC\ntakes up the anti-Sri Lankan proposal tabled by CORE?\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The grapevine has it that Nandasena is attempting to sidestep the\nissue of asking the Non-Aligned Bloc to second and support Foreign Minister\nGunawardena\u2019s proposal to reject outright the CORE proposal.   \n <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Nandasena fails to mobilise the friendly countries in the HRC\nchamber, the anti Sri Lankan proposal will be adopted unanimously, by\ndefault. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

War heroes sacrificed <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Nandasena co-sponsors or agrees to a consensual resolution or\nis a party in any way to the anti- Sri Lankan proposal being adopted\nunanimously by the UNHRC, for the want of the Chair not-calling for a vote, <\/strong>it\nwould be a clear signal that Nandasena is pitching his tent alongside Sirisena.\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Such a move would signal Nandasena\u2019s intention of collaborating\nwith America to betray Sri Lanka\u2019s sovereignty and her war heroes; the soldiers\nwould be extradited to America and incarcerated in their prisons, any time the\nAmericans so determine. Some perhaps to be even incinerated in their\nchairs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Such a move would also mean that Nandasena has collaborated with\nthe Americans to permit American soldiers to peremptorily and unilaterally\ninvade Sri Lanka, if America decides that Sri Lanka\u2019s actions threaten American\ninterests or if the Americans determine that Sri Lanka\u2019s resources are vital for\nAmerica to achieve its objectives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carte blanche for American military interventions  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And it would also mean that Nandasena has diabolically consented\nto betray our friends in the Non-Aligned Movement and elsewhere, by allowing a\nvillainous concept to become etched into International law by precedence, which\nwould empower America to unilaterally invade any Sovereign Nation in the world,\nat any time the Americans decide to do so.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the effectual gist of the CORE proposal based on\nBachelet\u2019s dubious Report. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All the above would happen, if Sri Lanka fails to initiate action\nto have Dinesh Gunawardena\u2019s proposal seconded by a friendly country. Such a\ncourse of action only, would force the Chair of the UNHRC to call for a vote.\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The question being angrily tossed about these days is, Is\nNandasena deliberately side-stepping the issue of asking the Non-Aligned Bloc\nto Second and support Gunawardena\u2019s proposal to reject the CORE proposal, the\npreliminary and mandatory step for a vote to be taken?\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the Non-Aligned Movement is mobilised to Second and support\nDinesh Gunawardena\u2019s outright rejection of the CORE proposal, it would compel\nthe HRC Chair to call for a vote, preventing the disastrous consequences of\nadopting unanimously a \u2018Consensual\u2019 Resolution, when no vote could ever be\ntaken. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bachelet and Nandasena agree Sri Lanka is a failed State? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the CORE Resolution is adopted unanimously, for the want of a\nvote not being taken, it would mean that Nandasena has accepted the position,\nindicated by Bachelet, that Sri Lanka by her actions has demonstrated its\ninability and unwillingness to pursue a meaningful path towards accountability\nfor international crimes and serious human rights violations.\u201d   <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the CORE proposal is adopted unanimously, without a vote, what\nNandasena is broadcasting to the world is \u2018Yes, I agree, Sri Lanka is a failed\nState. American intervention is necessary\u2019  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are our heroic soldiers war criminals? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

People demand from Nandasena, Tell us loud and clear, is this the\nposition you are taking? Are you telling the world (by accepting the Bachelet\nReport) that Sri Lanka is a failed State? Are you telling the world community\nthat Sri Lanka\u2019s soldiers committed international crimes and are in breach of\nserious Human Rights violations?  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is Sri Lanka surrendering? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Colombage, the controversial Secretary in the Foreign Ministry,\nsaid in that interview with Raymond, We are not willing to surrender without a\nfight.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since Nandasena has not refuted this widely publicised statement,\nit is presumed that Nandasena endorses this view.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does Colombage mean therefore by saying \u2018not willing to\nsurrender without a fight\u2019? The operative word is \u2018SURRENDER\u2019.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rephrased, Colombage\u2019s statement would read, \u2018We are willing to\nsurrender; only after a fight\u2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Has Colombage once again, by a Freudian slip, let the cat out of\nthe bag? He is saying that \u2018surrender\u2019 is an option and that Nandasena has\nendorsed it. Perhaps, the talks going on with the Enemy (the CORE group) to\nchange some of the wording of the Resolution, is the \u2018mock\u2019 fight that is going\non, before we surrender.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even one vote for Sri Lanka is a victory for all sovereign States\n <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

No one in the Government or Opposition has spoken against or about\nthe insidious concepts neatly concealed in the Bachelet Report; these\ndangerous, precedent-setting concepts would change the World Order for good and\npermit unilateral American military intervention anywhere in the world; this,\nonly if the CORE proposal were adopted unanimously. Even if there were only one\nvote in our favour, a very unlikely situation in the context of 35 NAM\ncountries being in the HRC, it is a victory for the free world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, what is this talk about \u2018surrender\u2019? Sri Lanka\u2019s actions could\nonly be construed as surrender, if she allows the CORE-proposal to be adopted\nunanimously, by consensus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is Nandasena upto? Is Nandasena doing a Sirisena? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Surrender is not in the vocabulary of the Sri Lanka Army <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a disgrace that a former military officer like Nandasena,\nwhether average or less so, is even considering \u2018Surrender\u2019. That word is not\nin the vocabulary of the Sri Lanka Army. Ask Sarath Fonseka, he will vouch for\nthat.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sri Lankan Army, when engaged in a defensive battle with an\nEnemy whose firepower and manpower are superior by far to the Army, there is\nnever a  question of surrender; they fight and defend their position to\nthe end, dying if needs be with their boots on.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is the ethos of the Sri Lanka Army they fight to a\n\u2018last-man-last-bullet\u2019.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
