A few days ago, in Geneva, a \u2018resolution\u2019 was introduced\nagainst Sri Lanka. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reports indicate that this \u2018resolution\u2019 was based on\nfalsities and inaccuracies, involving non-disclosure of vital<\/em>\ninformation (as an example, one reads of suppression of  \u2018Gash reports\u2019).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All this seems to constitute a perversion<\/em> of\nwhat is called \u2018human rights\u2019 for political purposes of certain countries,\nthereby removing any moral value and legitimacy in this so called\nresolution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also seems to raise the question whether any official who\ncontributed to this type of \u2018resolution\u2019 is a fit and proper person to hold the\nspecific office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outcome of vote<\/em>          \n                     \n                     \n      <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to reports, out of 47 eligible countries, 22 had\nvoted for this \u2018resolution\u2019, 11 against and 14 had abstained from voting for\nit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, in truth, the majority<\/em> of the\n47, did not<\/em>, in one way or another, provide its consent<\/em> to\nthis \u2018resolution\u2019, perhaps sensing its fakeness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, those who did provide consent seem to\nhave done so without any sense of propriety or shame.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
