Dear\nSLUNA members and friends,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As\nyou all are aware, the bill 104, namely Tamil\nGenocide Education bill <\/strong>has become a law in Province of Ontario on 12th<\/sup>\nMay 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The law alleges that a Tamil Genocide, has taken\nplace in Sri Lanka since 1948, and it says it is necessary to educate school\nchildren about its history to remember. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Under these\ncircumstances, I presume that all of you very well understand the situation our\nyoung kids would face in schools in the future. Canadian born young Sinhala\nkids would be mentally harassed for no fault of themselves. They would not know\nanything of these ugly made-up stories with full of hate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under this unfortunate situation, we strongly believe\nthat SLUNA should take a lead in protecting our young children from this sad\nsituation. Though, this year they were silent, we are sure\nthat they would do a well-planned Tamil genocide education week by 2022. It\nwill be much easier for them carry on with such a task with the support of many\nTamil trustees in school boards.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For 35 long years SLUNA fought a very tiresome\nbattle against Tamil terrorism propaganda which was designed to destabilise our\nMother country, Sri Lanka. Therefore, we strongly believe that it is our duty\nto fight this discriminatory piece of legislature of Ontario with the legal\nsystem of Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Few Sri Lankan community organizations, namely,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sri Lanka Canadian Action Coalition (SLCAC) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sri Lanka United National Association of Canada (SLUNA)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Canadian Sri Lankan Center for Social Harmony\n(CSLCSH)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sri Lanka Canadian Action Coalition Brampton (SLCAB)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We now have come together and planned to launch a\nlegal battle against this discriminating piece of legislature of the Ontario\ngovernment.  We do not see any other\nremedy to overcome this discriminatory situation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our group have discussed this matter with\neminent lawyers and sought their advice and they said the chances are very good\nfor us to win the case. We have now chosen the most suitable legal firm of lawyer\nto represent us in the court. The company is well experienced in constitutional\nmatters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I very earnestly appeal to you, on behalf of SLUNA\nexecutive committee, to be a strong force in protecting our children\u2019s future\nin Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your generous contributions \/ donations purely\nwould be going to meet the cost of this legal battle. We only know the initial\ncost $25000 but not the follow ups. It could be much more depends on the time\nit would lead in the future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
