If we\ntread upon the path of righteousness and continue to bow down before Allah the\nAlmighty, then certainly the help and succour of Allah the Almighty will be\nwith us.\u201d \u2013 Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The World\nHead of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Fifth Khalifa <\/em>(Caliph),\nHis Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, delivered the Eid-ul-Adha <\/em>sermon\non 21 July 2021 from the Mubarak Mosque <\/em>in Islamabad, Tilford,\nUnited Kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Across\nthe world, millions of Ahmadi Muslims were able to listen live to the Eid\nSermon of their Caliph and to join in with the silent prayer led by their\nspiritual leader through the global television channel MTA International.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During\nthe sermon, His Holiness spoke at length about the fundamental importance of\nrighteousness in relation to Eid-ul-Adha. His Holiness referred to chapter\n22 verse 38<\/em> of the Holy Quran which explains that Eid-ul-Adha\nis intrinsically linked to righteousness, stating that the flesh of sacrificial\nanimals reaches not Allah, nor does their blood, but it is your\nrighteousness that reaches Him.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

His\nHoliness said that it was regrettable that many Muslims sacrificed animals on\nthe occasion of Eid merely for the sake of showing off or to boast about their\nwealth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore,\nrecently in Pakistan, people have even taken pride in not permitting Ahmadi\nMuslims to partake in offering animal sacrifices based on the unjust and\nerroneous declaration that Ahmadi Muslims are not Muslim and therefore not\npermitted to act upon the teachings of Islam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hazrat\nMirza Masroor Ahmad said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is most regrettable that the government\nofficials and departments responsible for establishing law and justice (in\nPakistan) are unduly influenced by the so-called religious scholars and so they\nbar Ahmadi Muslims from slaughtering animals (on Eid) as sacrifice.\u201d     <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hazrat\nMirza Masroor Ahmad further said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The history of our Community shows that it\nis the way of the opponents of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community that they do all\nthat they can to find ways to cause hardships to Ahmadi Muslims and this is\ntheir established practice which is intensifying due to their utter lack of\nrighteousness.\u201d  <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking\nof the role Ahmadi Muslims must continue to adopt whilst facing any hardship,\nHazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We turn to Allah the Almighty and beseech\nHim alone. If we tread upon the path of righteousness and continue to bow down\nbefore Allah the Almighty, then certainly the help and succour of Allah the\nAlmighty will be with us, God willing.\u201d <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Explaining chapter\n22 verse 38<\/em> of the Holy Quran, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad\nsaid:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this verse, Allah the Almighty has\ninformed us that God Almighty does not accept large and expensive animals\nsacrificed (in His name) if there is no righteousness. Allah the Almighty does\nnot require the meat or blood of an animal offered in sacrifice \u2013 He is free of\nsuch needs. Thus, we must not fear if we are barred from offering the sacrifice\nof animals or if the clerics or the government officials seize our animals\u2026 If\nwe walk upon the path of righteousness whilst intending to or offering\nsacrifice of animals, then Allah the Almighty will accept it. However, an\nanimal slaughtered sacrificially where there is no righteousness, then it is a\npointless and hollow gesture.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

His\nHoliness narrated several passages from the writings of the Holy Founder of\nAhmadiyya Muslim Community in Islam Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad – Promised\nMessiah (peace\nbe upon him<\/em>) regarding the significance of righteousness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore,\nHis Holiness quoted passages from the writings of the Promised Messiah (peace\nbe upon him) eloquently praising the most lofty and excellent status of the\nHoly Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and how he brought\nabout a phenomenal and revolutionary moral change in the most wretched of\npeoples in a way that is unparalleled in history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His\nHoliness mentioned that it is only through the Promised Messiah (peace be upon\nhim) that a true understanding of the unparalleled status of the Holy Prophet\nMuhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) can be understood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hazrat\nMirza Masroor Ahmad said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was the Promised Messiah (peace be upon\nhim) who gave us the understanding of the blessed status of the Holy Prophet\nMuhammad (peace and blessing be upon him). However, despite this, the so-called\nreligious scholars allege that we have blasphemed against the Holy Prophet\nMuhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and therefore Ahmadi Muslims have no\nright to carry out acts of worship in accordance with Islamic teachings and to\nact upon its traditions and to follow the practice that was commanded by our\nmaster and leader, the Holy Prophet Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah (peace and\nblessings be upon him). They can try all they like, but they can never take\naway the unbridled love and respect that we carry in our heart for the Holy\nProphet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Concluding\nhis sermon, His Holiness again highlighted the importance of righteousness and <\/p>\n\n\n\n

said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today on the occasion of this Eid, in\nrelation to which Allah the Almighty has said that if your actions are devoid\nof righteousness, they cannot make you the beloved of God, every one of us\nshould pledge to live our lives according to the standard that every act we\ncarry out should be in accordance with the commandments of Allah the Almighty.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hazrat\nMirza Masroor Ahmad further stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If we pledge to do this and make efforts\ntowards this then certainly Allah the Almighty will grant us what He has\npromised to those who tread upon the path of righteousness\u2026\u2026 If we do not\nattain the pleasure of God Almighty, then even if we do offer the sacrifice of\nanimals, it will not be a cause of true joy.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the\nend, His Holiness called on Ahmadi Muslims to pray that the world may be saved\nfrom severe calamities that await it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hazrat\nMirza Masroor Ahmad said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We should pray for humanity at large that\npeople may recognise Allah the Almighty and be saved from His Wrath. As the world\nspirals towards destruction, we should pray that may Allah enable mankind to\nact with sense and wisdom. May the people of the world recognise Allah the\nAlmighty and may they reform themselves, otherwise a large calamity looms\nahead. May Allah have mercy.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
