{"id":117399,"date":"2021-08-23T16:06:24","date_gmt":"2021-08-23T23:06:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lankaweb.com\/news\/items\/?p=117399"},"modified":"2021-08-23T16:06:24","modified_gmt":"2021-08-23T23:06:24","slug":"rishad-named-as-fifth-suspect-in-death-of-teenage-domestic-worker","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lankaweb.com\/news\/items\/2021\/08\/23\/rishad-named-as-fifth-suspect-in-death-of-teenage-domestic-worker\/","title":{"rendered":"Rishad named as fifth suspect in death of teenage domestic worker"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Courtesy Adaderana<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Former minister Rishad Bathiudeen has been named as the fifth suspect in the case pertaining to the death of a 16-year-old domestic worker at his residence.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile the four suspects including the MP\u2019s wife who were arrested following investigations into the teenage girl\u2019s death have been further remanded until September 06.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They were ordered to be re-remanded when the case was taken up before the Colombo Magistrate\u2019 Court today (23).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On July 15, the 16-year-old girl, who was serving as domestic help at the Bathiudeen residence, succumbed to severe burn injuries while receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.
