23Mar 21 is a red-letter day for Sri Lanka. On this day, the little island\nnation once again bloodied the nose of America when she defeated its plan to\ndrive home a deep nail of American colonialism into her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

America,\nunleashed its running-dogs at the UNHRC, hoping to establish a second Attorney\nGeneral\u2019s department in Sri Lanka under the direct control of the UNHRC,\nthereby setting the stage to fry our heroic soldiers in the American Electric\nchairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

America\nwas hoping to establish this mechanism by illegally vesting the power of the UN\nSecurity Council with the UNHRC, using a unanimous (or consensual) resolution\nagainst Sri Lanka as its executionary tool. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

America\nlaboured and laboured and ultimately gave birth to a mouse, Resolution 46\/1. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nResolution, totally contradictory to the multilateral spirit of the UN was not\nunanimous and consequently is not binding on Sri Lanka in any way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\nis not a sausage the Americans can do with it and the Global South, which\nforesaw the dangers of the American conspiracy, do not give a tuppeny damn to\nthe defanged outcome, Resolution 46\/1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But\nduring the process America deviously budgeted a sum of 2 million USD for the\nestablishment of this investigative and prosecuting mechanism, arguing that it\ndid so thinking that the resolution would be passed consensually. (It is\nrumoured that de Livera has been shortlisted by the Americans to head the\nparallel AG\u2019s department).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nmonies so set aside in the draft budget is usable only if the budgeted amount\nis approved at this year\u2019s annual sessions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nnews on the grapevine is that the present administration in the Foreign\nMinistry is showing scant interest on the matter; no moves are being made to\nensure that the monies budgeted by the US are NOT passed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If\nthe US budgeted money is passed at the UN by default due to disinterest and\ninattention of the Foreign Ministry, it could cause meaningless problems for\nSri Lanka and the Global South.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\nwas in similar circumstances, in March this year, that Mahinda was compelled to\ncut across diplomatic lines of protocol and achieve what he did; he ensured there\nwas no consensual vote for the running-dog resolution.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alarmed\nby the current events, Mahinda reportedly took the initiative to muster\ninternational support to ensure that the US budgeted money for the\nestablishment of the parallel AG\u2019s department would not be passed.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When\nthe Americans learnt of Mahinda\u2019s moves, they moved immediately to\nstrait-jacket him; Peiris and Colombage were attached to Mahinda\u2019s\nentourage.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On\n10 Sep 21 Mahinda, the charismatic Sri Lankan leader, left for Italy to give\nthe keynote address at the G20 Interfaith Forum that began on the twelfth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One\nof those accompanying Mahinda was G.L. Peiris who, during two years of the\ncovid crisis as Education Minister, left the children of Sri Lanka completely\neducation-less, without even a shred of a plan to boast of. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\nhas been the history of Peiris from a lethargic adolescence to the geriatric\npresent of sparse tresses of dyed hair. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Peiris\nwas sacked from his educational portfolio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In\na virtual unbroken political career of 30 years Peiris has survived and\nthrived, simply by making himself available as a stooge for the national and\ninternational centres of power; he had a good grounding, when he wooed and\nreceived beneficence from the estate of arch white supremacist and\nsegregationist, Cecil Rhodes.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today,\nPeiris does not squirm when toadying for yankee Basil who is under strict\nAmerican oath to work loyally towards achieving America\u2019s objectives in Sri\nLanka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately\nfor Sri Lanka, Peiris, on being sacked, was given the Foreign Ministry\nPortfolio replacing Dinesh Gunawardena. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gunawardena\nis not exactly a favourite of the Americans, having ably supported Mahinda\nduring the March UNHRC issue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dinesh\nalso put the record straight on 6.9 million people voting GR into power so that\nGR could fulfil his pledge to the people of pursuing a committed Non-Aligned\nforeign policy and rejecting outright any hint of Sri Lanka being a Neutral\nState.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This\nreconfirmation probably cost Dinesh his job in the Foreign Ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mahinda\u2019s\nvisit to Italy is shrouded in mystery; many red herrings have been drawn across\nthe path and these are a source of distraction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Was\nthere a plan by the American Rajapaksas to destroy Mahinda\u2019s image in the eyes\nof the Sri Lankan people? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In\ntoday\u2019s context, News telecasts and social media are portraying seething anger\nagainst the Government, throughout the country, allegedly for serious acts of\ncommission and omission. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most\nof that anger is vented on GR who is considered by the people as an absolute\nfailure and singly responsible for today\u2019s sorry state of affairs in the\ncountry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mahinda\non the other hand evokes plenty of empathy from the people who believe that Sri\nLanka would not be in this position had he been in the saddle; there is an\nimpression amongst the people that he is being deliberately side-lined and that\nthere are undercurrents of a campaign to discredit him and the Sri Lankan\nRajapaksas.                  \n                     \n                     \n                     \n                       \n                     \n                     \n                     \n                     \n                     \n                   \n                     \n                     \n                  It was in this\nbackground that people were surprised to see the demonstrations in Bologna and\nthe subsequent news coverage of these incidents; they were all targeting\nMahinda and non-whatsoever against the American \u2018Paksas\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many\nbelieve that the Americans are behind this campaign and that it is being\nconducted with the support of the strong Yankee fifth column in this country.\nMahinda has for long been a bugbear for the Americans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will\nthere be similar demonstrations when the Sri Lankan delegation to the General\nAssembly arrives in New York? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\nmay have gone unnoticed that Geneva is just 277 miles away from Bologna and\nthat the 48th<\/sup> session of the UNHRC began on 13 September.  Sri\nLanka is very much on the agenda at these sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If\nPeiris is one end of Mahinda\u2019s strait jacket the other end is Colombage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\nwould be recalled that pastor Colombage, with strong links with an insidious US\nfunded think tank was talking with the enemy CORE group to hammer out a\nconsensual resolution when he should have been talking with our friends in the\nGlobal South and the NAM to defeat the resolution; he is on record to\n\u2018boastfully\u2019 proclaim that Sri Lanka would surrender, but only after a fight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joker\nColombage\u2019s plans were thwarted when Mahinda suddenly intervened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Knowing\nthe calibre of Peiris, Colombage and the others of their ilk at the Foreign\nMinistry and with the UN station in Geneva being handled by a person who owes\nhis appointment for being the author of an obsequious biography, the country\nmust be made alert to what is happening. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If\nthe unsolicited American monies are approved by the UN, the country and the\npeople are forewarned about who should be held responsible for this lapse and\nwho should be held responsible, in the consequent future for the incarceration\nof our heroic soldiers and the colonisation of our country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All\nof these people are put on notice; the country will never forgive you.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
