Dear Mr. Sumanthiran:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is my third\u00a0OPEN letter to you.\u00a0 I wanted to know more about you other than just a Tamil MP who has adopted a surrogate Mother\u00a0in\u00a0 Madam Michelle\u00a0Bachelet , the UN Human\u00a0Rights\u00a0Commissioner, to whom he goes running\u00a0saying..”.Mommy..Mommy… Sri Lanka is not being\nnice to me..She is discriminating  and persecuting me and my <\/em><\/strong>Tamil people, especially in the North and East of Sri\nLanka.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And what\u00a0I gathered\u00a0was that your surrogate Mommy is a\u00a0contracted\u00a0employee at the UNHRC, which America’s Nikki Haley called it a “cesspool of political\u00a0bias.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I read about you.\u00a0 You are a Royalist, and I am a Nalandian.\u00a0 You are trained as a Lawyer, and I am trained as a Geologist\u00a0(can identify a hard rock), a Paleontologist\u00a0(can identify\u00a0a pea-brained\u00a0Dinosaur); and a\u00a0Museologist (interpreting\u00a0Human and Natural\u00a0sciences to the public through\u00a0exhibits).\u00a0 That you are a clever debater\u00a0in Parliament, and I am not.\u00a0 And\u00a0I still\u00a0had difficulty figuring out whether\u00a0you are an Honest politician or someone who pulls wool\u00a0over a constituent’s eyes and the Sri Lanka Watcher’s like the liar Amirthalingam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And that both of us passionately love our Motherland – Sri\nLanka….or was it  India for you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is where\u00a0village mothers\u00a0I saw<\/em><\/strong>

poor and in patchwork\u00a0rags<\/em><\/strong>
did not seek permission to weep<\/em><\/strong>
when their\u00a0soldier sons<\/em><\/strong>
who had gone to war with a will<\/em><\/strong>
to save their country\u00a0from dissection<\/em><\/strong>
by marauding\u00a0separatist Tamil Tigers<\/em><\/strong>
returned home dead in plywood boxes<\/em><\/strong>
and sometimes in a puzzle of a head, limbs<\/em><\/strong>
bones, and bloodied raw flesh.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I read your interview – Truth with\nChamuditha, <\/em>and I was bothered.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Is this guy another lying Amirthalingam?” I\nasked under my breath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.<\/strong>  You were asked – Do you like to see\nthe Sinhalese, Tamil and Muslim people living together?”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your response was:.”THAT IS MY FERVENT\nHOPE.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Whow…Whow..Suman, just a minute.!\u00a0 You must be out of\u00a0your bloody mind. That is flippant\u00a0 and down right dishonest.\u00a0 You had that choice for hundreds\u00a0of years, but since 1971, you kicked\u00a0out 27,000 Sinhalese people by 1981;\u00a0 \u00a0You stoned\u00a0and chased\u00a0400 Sinhalese\u00a0undergraduates and lecturers from the Jaffna University campus \u00a0in August 1977; and you\u00a0 terrorized, chased and kicked\u00a0out 90,000 Muslims in October\u00a01990., giving them 24 hours to get out.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And that is 117,400 Sinhalese and Muslims and you\nwant me  to believe you.?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ha! Na!!  Not me, Suman.  Let’s cut out that \n–boru..boru<\/strong> – crap of yours; <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.  Suman, you were asked “What was the\nactual need to establish the Tamil National Alliance?”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your response was :”THERE IS\nA PERCEPTION THAT TAMILS HAVE BEEN UNJUSTLY TREATED\nIN THIS COUNTRY SINCE INDEPENDENCE.  IT WAS TO RIGHT\n(the injustices) THAT THE FEDERAL <\/em><\/strong>PARTY WAS FORMED IN 1949.  IT HAS BEEN CALLED\nDIFFERENT NAMES OVER THE YEARS BUT NOW WE <\/em><\/strong>KNOW AS THE TAMIL NATIONAL ALLIANCE.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let us get this right Suman.  If I was marking\nthat answer paper, M.A. Sumanthiran<\/strong> would have failed for\nbeing dishonest and I would have given you a 0 out of\na 100 percent<\/em><\/strong>.   Here’s why Suman..  I told you once\nbefore not to challenge the intelligence of\nthe Sinhalese.  My advice to you is that if you cannot be truthful\nand honest, then <\/strong>SHUT UP,<\/strong>, as you get caught in the\nnasty web of deceit.  And your credibility as an\n“honest” Tamil politiciankeeps dropping like a hot potato that keeps\nskipping towards the gutter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

History tells us that in Ceylon (Sri Lanka) at the time of\nIndependence on 4 February 1948,  the Tamils enjoyed the luxury of being the “privileged\nminority”<\/strong> – 10% of the population, for 131 years of British\ncolonial rule.  That is not a Fairy Tale, as it is true and\nthe Sinhalese were the “wronged majority” <\/strong>of\n75% of the total population of Ceylon.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And that is a historical Fact, Suman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suman, what baffles me is to accept as Fact \nthat the breakaway three musketeers (Chelva,  Wanasing and\nNaga)  formed the Federal Party as their crystal balls read\nthat between February 1948 and December 1949, they were given\nthe  perception  that Tamils have been unjustly treated in this\ncountry.  So  they formed the Federal Party to cushion and guard “privileged\nminority” status that the Tamils <\/strong>enjoyed for 131\nyears.  That’s a piffle…that’s a load of bollocks…that a\ncrock full of codswallop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suman, give this Sinhalese a break and many others.\u00a0 And don’t you ever…ever. challenge\u00a0the intelligence of us Sinhalese\u00a0 I hope you got that bit clear in your mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suman, I hope you are keeping your surrogate Mother,\nUNHRC’s Michelle  Bachelet  apprised of these FACTs or else she will\nkeep inviting the UN’s Sri Lanka bashers. to play <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Ring-a-ring-o-roses\/ A\u00a0 pocket full of posies\/<\/em><\/strong>
a-tishoo!\/ A-tishoo\/ and\u00a0 we fall down,”\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

and hopefully not injure their buttocks and legs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3<\/strong>.  Suman,\nspeaking of your surrogate Mother,UN Human\nRights Commissioner, Michelle Bachelet, she announced on the 13th of\nSeptember, that her Office was going ahead with a fresh investigation of\nSri Lanka’s accountability of...intimidation<\/em> .<\/strong>…...and\nexcessive use of force on Tamils in Sri Lanka during the Eelam War.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ibelieve both these items are asinine\nand hilarious, as Tamils are the  maestros of both these complaints. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

INTIMIDATION:  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I<\/strong>ntimidation Story 1: Suman: I have been on\nthis Eelam file since August 4, 1983.  I and Asoka Yapa were the\nfirst Sinhalese who went on 6 o’clock evening TV News in Ottawa,\nCanada,  to tell our side of the story.  For 10 days your Tamils used\nevery print and audio visual-media outlet  to be nasty to Sri Lanka,\ndropped our  Mother Lanka on the ground, kicked her and\nspat at her.  I was the 8th Sinhalese who was approached by the TV\nreporters to find out whether I would speak together with a moderate Sinhalese\non camera.  The choice was easy.  Asoka Yapa, another Federal\nGovernment employee,  young and bright as a button,  an honest\npatriot  with a healthy mind was the second Sinhalese who was\ninterviewed. Bring in the cameras I said,  and with Asoka Yapa, we told\nour side of the story.  The two sleeping lions were woken up and\nsince then we have gone toe-to-toe with your Tamil separatists.  And\nwe were intimidated with a barrage of nasty telephone calls by Tamils.\nafter the TV appearance.  And we have been awake ever since and\nready to pounce at the Tamil Tigers with our Lankan-lion claws.  We\nhad enough of the<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Canadian Snow-Tiger’s crap.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Intimidation Story 2: On Monday 9th June 1987, at 8:30 in\nthe morning I was called to the office of my Director General of\nCommunications, Dixi Lambert, of the Department of Fisheries and\nOceans.  I went.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Asoka, will you please attend a meeting\u00a0 in Room (?) on the 11th floor at 9.”<\/em>\u00a0 She did not tell<\/strong> me what the\u00a0meeting was all about.\u00a0 I went, and was surprised to see an Ottawa Police constable<\/strong> in uniform, an officer from Intelligence, Chief of Security of the Department, Chief\u00a0of Security\u00a0of<\/strong> Campeau, the owners of the 15 story building at 200 Kent\u00a0Street, and another colleague from the<\/strong> Department of Fisheries and Oceans.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a meeting on my personal Security, the 15 Storey building and my colleagues at DFO.\u00a0 The previous\u00a0Friday’<\/strong> a Tamil had\u00a0called the DG, to say that\u00a0they were going to blow up the 15 storey building since I was employed<\/strong> in the Minister’s Communications\u00a0Section.\u00a0 It was a serious\u00a0 High Security Meeting and I was\u00a0 walked through<\/strong> the\u00a0 procedures and drills to handle the threat.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Your\u00a0Tamils thought that Asoka WEERA-SINHA was going to shake like an autumn leaf in the wind<\/strong> under his pants and Shut\u00a0Up they got it wrong Suman. If your Tamils thought that I would\u00a0run down Kent Street in search\u00a0of a manhole to hide,\u00a0 or hide under my office table, what they\u00a0found out was that\u00a0\u00a0this\u00a0WEERA-SINHA\u00a0 was not going to take any of\u00a0 this\u00a0“shit” from your Tamils, and was ready to pounce at their jugular\u00a0with my\u00a0<\/strong>Sinha-lion claws.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Intimidation Story 3:\u00a0 \u00a0It was 1992, I was working for the Sri Lanka High Commission in Ottawa..\u00a0 Two Tamils had<\/strong> made an appointment to see me.\u00a0 They came.\u00a0 They were escorted to my office on the second floor at\u00a026 Range\u00a0<\/strong>Range in Ottawa.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two guys may have been in their early\u00a020s.\u00a0 Maybe around 24.\u00a0 I met them at the door.\u00a0 shook hands<\/strong> as any diplomat would do,\u00a0 Invited them\u00a0in and showed them to the couch to sit down.\u00a0 In front of<\/strong> the couch was a coffee table, and my chair was facing them and the coffee table.\u00a0 No sooner they\u00a0<\/strong>sat, both raised their feet and placed them on\nthe coffee table.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Oops!… I suppose\u00a0you are\u00a0not used to sitting on a couch, and the coffee table is not a footstool. In case you are used to sitting\u00a0on the floor on a mat, I\u00a0 am sorry I can’t offer you one because\u00a0I don’t have one.\u00a0 Will you<\/strong><\/em> kindly take your\u00a0feet off the coffee table.<\/em><\/strong>” <\/em>They didn’t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Let me give you one more chance for you to\ndisplay your guest-etiquette.  Please take your feet off\nthe table,”<\/em><\/strong>I said.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

By that time I had taken off my diplomatic cap and\nchanged gears to deal with these two Tamil punks.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Perhaps you are\u00a0used to sitting on your parents’ gold thread woven\u00a0 luxury mat produced by the Uduvil Punday<\/em><\/strong> Mat Weavers, I am sorry, I don’t\u00a0have one.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 I called the Security guard on the\nphone.  He was a burley, pleasant Ethiopian in a Security Khaki\nUniform.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Will you please  remove these two visitors\nby their ears from my office, and when at the front door, kick their\nbehinds and throw them out,”<\/strong>  <\/em> I requested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I told the two Tamil intimidating punks when they were on\ntheir way out,  that..<\/strong>. “this High Commission Office is a\nmini-satellite Office of the Sovereign Sri Lankan Government. \nAnd I demand of you to respect this Office.  Nothing\nmore…nothing less.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“When you come next time, I will be dealing\u00a0with you and not another diplomat.\u00a0 I will offer\u00a0you the same\u00a0couch to sit down on and there will be a coffee table in front\u00a0of you.\u00a0 Please\u00a0 drill\u00a0your selves how to sit on a couch and place the<\/em><\/strong> feet on the floor.\u00a0 Anything\u00a0else, I won’t tolerate.\u00a0 And by the way, my name is Asoka WEERA-SINHA.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suman, I don’t take this ‘shit’ from your  young\nTamil punks. I resent such intimidation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your surrogate  Mother worried about\nthe intimidation of the Tamils by the Sri Lanka Government.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doesn’t she know that Tamils are maestros of\nintimidation.  Brief her, Suman.  Ha! what UNHRC rubbish…brief\nher,<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

so that she doesn’t get on her high-horse and\nembarrass herself by wiggling a finger and <\/strong>Tut-tutting<\/em>\nat the Sri Lankan Government,  It is not kosher nor is it cricket.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suman: UN goes ahead with fresh probe seeking funding for project\u00a0said your surrogate Mother\u00a0 UNHRC Michelle Bachelet on 13 September, 2021..\u00a0 One thing\u00a0she was probing was\u00a0 THE EXCESSIVE USE OF FORCE by<\/strong> the Sri Lankan Armed Forces.\u00a0 Here is my experience and my story:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Excessive Use of Force Story 5:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suman,\u00a0 let me take you back to 1992 when I was working\u00a0for the\u00a0Sri Lanka High Commission in Ottawa and<\/strong> my High Commissioner was HC Walter Rupesinghe, not a career diplomat, appointed\u00a0by President Premadasa<\/strong> from the\u00a0private sector.\u00a0 And he was excellent…excellent…excellent.\u00a0 \u00a0And he was my first Sri Lankan Boss.\u00a0 I had not worked in Sri Lanka before.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He had invited the Director of Amnesty\u00a0International\u00a0for lunch one day and invited me to join them<\/strong> at the High Commissioner’s Residence\u00a0on Range Road.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that sumptuous lunch , <\/strong>the\nconversation was about AI’s serious concerns about the alleged\nHuman Rights violations by the Sri Lankan Armed Forces on the\nwarring Tamil Tiger terrorists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Good, I thought, let’s hear your concerns, I thought\nunder my breath.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“High Commissioner, we at\nAmnesty International are very concerned with the excessive\nforce that your Armed Forces are using on the Tamil\nTigers!”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before Walter could respond, I picked on it and said\n…”Come on  MrX, you must be joking. Do you honestly\nknow what this war is all about?  This is not a game of\ntiddlywinks between the Sri Lankan Armed Forces and the Tamil Tiger \narmed terrorists.  These Tamils were given military training by\nIndira Gandhi’ s India in 32 army camps in South India and at the foothills\nof the Himalayas.  Did you honestly think that our Armed Forces are\nusing guns and  bullets on the Tamil Tigers in a school back\nyard who were fighting  with bamboo sticks and catapults and\nstones.  <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Pete’s sake Mr.X , be real.   Did you\nnot know that this is a conventional war, there is nothing called\n“excessive force”. in such a war.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 When your Tamil Tiger points the barrel of\nhis Kalashnikov at my soldier’s heart, I don’t  expect my man to be\nfoolish and point the barrel of his gun at the Tamil Tiger’s\nkneecap.  I want my soldier to point the barrel of his gun at\nyour Tamil Tiger’s heart and shoot the bastard dead before the Tamil\nTiger gets him.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is how a conventional war is fought.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stop being so Goddamn naive….don’t be so stupid Mr.\nX!”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

By then High Commissioner Rupesinghe was kicking\u00a0me under the table to shut me up.\u00a0 And I had to take my<\/strong> gloves off before I could have landed a knockout\u00a0punch on this foolish Director\u00a0of Amnesty International.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suman, so what the\u00a0heck is your surrogate Mother\u00a0Michelle Bachelet, upto,\u00a0 on her\u00a0high-horse wiggling\u00a0her<\/strong> finger at Sri Lanka and bullying our puny island.\u00a0 Shish… Suman, I don’t get it, nor will she get a Christmas card<\/strong> this December from me.\u00a0 I refuse to spend $10 for such foolishness.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suman, did you hear that echo.. ?  which said UNHRC\nis a <\/strong>“cesspool of political bias.”<\/strong><\/em> That’s\nthe <\/strong>voice of <\/strong>US’s Nikki Haley.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sumanthiran. in North Sri Lanka…“separatists came looking for her brother.\u00a0 Since he was away,<\/em><\/strong> \u00a0his 24 year old sister was dragged out of the\u00a0house, tied to a coconut tree and shot through the ear.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SINHA<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If I have\u00a0taken a passion of a lion<\/em><\/strong>
into my heart by pithy\u00a0anger,<\/em><\/strong>
it is because\u00a0your grenade\u00a0clutching fingers<\/em><\/strong>
are entangled in my beard hurting me<\/em><\/strong>
with the poison\u00a0darts\u00a0of half -truths and lies<\/em><\/strong>
published in foreign newspapers.<\/em><\/strong>
And when the ketchup blood gushes\u00a0out<\/em><\/strong>
from the thumb-print on her forehead,<\/em><\/strong>
severing a life for exposing the debt<\/em><\/strong>
of joy being a tenth generation\u00a0native.<\/em><\/strong>
This is when the angry lion roars a jungle war cry<\/em><\/strong>

The question at stake is – “Asoka,do\nyou trust MP Sumanthiran?”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“To be honest, I really don’t think I do ….No I\ndon’t.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suman that is how the cookie crumbles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
