Close to 300 people will killed in a mass murder by 8 Islamic terrorist\nsuicide bombers profaning to be members of ISIS. That they pledged support for\nISIS prior to committing their heinous crime, requires Sri Lanka to view this\nincident as the first but not the last.&nbsp;<strong>Sri Lanka suffered 30 years of LTTE terrorism because it ignored\nthe need to wipe out extremist separatist ideology. Sri Lanka cannot commit the\nsame mistake by taking the case lightly simply because the 8 suicide bombers\nare dead.&nbsp;<\/strong>These suicide bombers were promoted to commit mass murder\nbecause of an ideology that was being promoted underground secretly by people\ncamouflaged and wearing different hats in society to cover their\ngameplan.&nbsp;<strong>The People want truth &amp; justice,\nmore importantly the people are watching the AG\u2019s department &amp; CID to catch\nall those linked to the ideology that draws people to commit murder.<\/strong>Whether\nthe culprits are lawyers and whether fellow lawyers &amp; the UN bellows 24\u00d77 \u2013\nAG\u2019s dept &amp; CID must get to the bottom of this crime &amp; punish all\ninvolved in planning the crime with severe indictments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Attorney General\u2019s Dept\nfunctions as prosecutors while CID &amp; associated entities are engaged in\ninvestigations. &nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>There are 2 parts to the Easter\nSunday debacle targeting 3 churches &amp; 3 hotels by 8 suicide bombers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Part 1<\/strong>should\nbe to&nbsp;<strong>bring to book every person who\nplayed a role in planning, executing or assisting the mass murder<\/strong>that\ntook place on Easter Sunday. Ignoring this means the likelihood of many more\nfuture attacks!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Part 2<\/strong>should\nbe to&nbsp;<strong>bring to book every person who\nwas aware of the intel warnings sent but did nothing to prevent the crime when\nthey had the authority &amp; capacity to do so irrespective of their position<\/strong>.\nAuthorities must also investigate politicians\/lawyers\/others who are trying to\nmislead &amp; divertattentionaway from the facts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According\nto media, the AG\u2019s department has forwarded indictments to the Puttalam High\nCourt against Hejaaz Hezbullah &amp; Principal of Save the Pearls madrassa\nschool Mohamed Shakeel. Based on this media report all that the arrested lawyer\nis going to be charged with is inciting racist animosity between different\nethnic groups. All the 8 suicide bombers\nwere seen pledging allegiance to ISIS (and we all know the real\nbrains\/countries behind these terrorists!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The argument that arrested\nlawyer was only providing legal consultation to justify links with the Easter\nSunday suicide bombers &amp; their families is a shoddy argument.&nbsp;<\/strong>We\nhope the AG\u2019s department realizes this, if not, we would like to pose the\nfollowing questions to the AG\u2019s dept &amp; the CID<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3 suicide bombers &amp; their\nfamilies had direct links with the arrested lawyer &amp; these were not for\nlegal consultations!<\/strong>\u2013 has the AG\u2019s dept looked into these links &amp; ties?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Ilham Ahmed Mohamed Ibrahim<\/strong>the&nbsp;<strong>Shangrila Hotel suicide bomber<\/strong>was the&nbsp;<strong>Treasurer of Save the Pearls<\/strong>created by the arrested\nlawyer in early 2015. Who appointed Ilham as Treasurer?<\/li><li><strong>The arrested lawyer &amp; brother of the Dehiwela suicide bomber<\/strong>were having discussions in his Dematagoda house to set up Save\nthe Pearls.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Abdul Latheef Mohamed Jameel<\/strong>blew\nhimself up at the&nbsp;<strong>New\nTropical Inn Hotel,<\/strong>Dehiwela on Easter Sunday \u2013 he was educated in Australia &amp;\nUK<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Inshaff\nAhmed Mohamed Ibrahim (Cinnamon Grand suicide bomber)<\/strong>elder brother of Ilham the Shangri-la suicide bomber donated to\nSave the Pearls Trust \u2013 how much and what was this money used for by the\narrested lawyer?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>All 3 links with the 3 suicide\nbombers &amp; their families have nothing to do with legal consultations.<\/strong>We\nhope the AG\u2019s dept &amp; CID have established this because the general public\nhas!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\narrested lawyer however did give legal advice to the Dehiwela suicide bomber\nJameel when he was summoned to CID in 2018 \u2013 WHY was he summoned? Note this\nlink with a suicide bomber was before Easter Sunday bombing in April 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why did the arrested lawyer\ndecide not to register Save the Pearls?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a lawyer he should know to register all&nbsp;<strong>lawfully functioning<\/strong>entities! As an unregistered\n\u2018charity\u2019 how much money has Save the Pearl\/Trust received from overseas &amp;\nlocally &amp; by whom and what has this money being used for?&nbsp;<strong>Has a proper audit been done by the AG\u2019s dept &amp; CID!&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is the response of the\nAG\u2019s dept to the arrested lawyer being an ADMIN of the Save the Pearls social\nmedia<\/strong>&amp; exactly what was his role?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Is it a coincidence that the\nsame time Jamaat-e-Millt Ibrahim (JMI) &amp; Pearls of Wisdom was also formed\nin 2015<\/strong>immediately after the 2015 regime change took place assisted by\nUS &amp; Allies?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Did the AG\u2019s dept &amp; CID\ninvestigate if these Pearls\u201d ended up being amalgamated as JMI<\/strong>to\nspread extremist fundamentalist ideology which resulted in creating 8 suicide\nbombers?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Has the AG\u2019s dept looked into\nthe sources of funding to Save the Pearls?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What does the AG\u2019s dept have to say about&nbsp;<strong>Save the Pearls receiving from Qater Charity banned by countries\nfor funding terrorists!<\/strong>How much did this Charity send to Save\nthe Pearls &amp; what was the money used for?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why is an internationally\nbanned terrorist \u2018charity\u2019 sending money to an unregistered \u2018charity\u2019 teaching\nchildren?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Given that a banned terrorist\norganization has been linked to a local charity, what legal action is the AG\u2019s\ndept taking against Save the Pearls?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Has the AG\u2019s dept looked into\nwho financed millions of rupees for the 2016 Best Mosque Competition event held\nat PM\u2019s office<\/strong>under initiative Advocacy Reconciliation Council\u201d. What was the\npurpose of this event &amp; were members of this network linked to the Easter\nSunday?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Is it a coincidence that the\ndeported Sri Lankan linked to a suicide bombing in Syria<\/strong>has\nas his lawyer \u2013 the arrested lawyer Hejaaz!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Is\nthis arrested lawyer famed for arguing on behalf of terrorists!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What a coincidence, he even\nrepresented the suspects who damaged Buddha statues in Mawanella<\/strong>area\nthrough his junior lawyers!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Has the AG\u2019s dept located which\ncountry the arrested lawyer was in at the time of the Easter Sunday attack<\/strong>&amp;\nthe duration of his stay?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Can the AG\u2019s dept tell the\npublic how many mobile phones this arrested lawyer operated &amp; have all\nthese SIM cardsbeen located<\/strong>&amp; what do they reveal?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Close to 300 people perished\nand charging people on a lame \u2018inciting ethnic disharmony\u2019 is not the justice\nthat the people are expecting to be delivered by the AG\u2019s department.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\ngeneral public are no lawyers but they are not stupid either. They have\nfollowed every news report, every debate, every press\/media release and in\ntheir eyes this arrested lawyer has been providing far more than professional\nlegal consultations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The arrested lawyer has had\ndirect links to 3 suicide bombers prior to the Easter Sunday bombing with one\nof the 2 suicide-brothers functioning as his Treasurer and the other donating\nmassive funds to his charity, while he has been seeking help from the 3<\/strong><strong><sup>rd<\/sup><\/strong><strong>suicide bombers brother to set up his charity &amp; providing\nlegal advice to the 3<\/strong><strong><sup>rd<\/sup><\/strong><strong>suicide\nbomber after he was summoned by CID in 2018. These links cannot be ignored and\nare all part &amp; parcel of the greater ISIS fundamentalist ideology drawing\npeople to commit murder in the name of religion.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Thus, the public would like to\nask if the Attorney General\u2019s department &amp; CID are going to further\ninvestigate the following areas the public think, are more important and should\nhave taken priority in framing charges against the lawyer. He cannot be\nreleased with a lame charge!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If\nthe UNHRC\/fellow lawyers who are petitioning 24\u00d77 on behalf of this arrested\nlawyer are doing so even after knowing above, it is a very sad state of affairs\nfor Sri Lanka to have people side with terrorist-instigators and not the real\nvictims of terror. We should not be surprised \u2013 LTTE lasted 30 years because\nthe supposed same rights-activists always wanted GoSL to have tea with\nterrorists while happy to issue a feeble unemotional statement after every\nheinous terrorist act by LTTE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Close to300 persons perished on Easter Sunday. It\u2019s over 2 years\nand everyone is waiting for and demanding justice. However, some quarters\nlocally &amp; internationally have seen fit to hijack the status quo of \u2018victim\u2019\nand plug it to people arrested for links to Easter Sunday. This is\nunforgiveable. Everyone is seeking the truth. Truth maybe bitter for some but\nthey will have to accept it. Using the power of their positions, they cannot\nerase or dilute the truth.&nbsp;<strong>Truth\n&amp; Justice must go hand in hand and we all want every person linked to the\nEaster Sunday crime to be punished.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\nus remind all that the victims are not those arrested for links to Easter\nSunday mass murder but those that perished inside 3 churches and 3 hotels and\nthose that remain injured for life. If human rights organizations (both\ninternational &amp; local) see fit to campaign for the release of a lawyer\ncompletely ignoring justice for these victims \u2013 we don\u2019t need any court to\ndetermine their motives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\nthe suicide bombers pledged allegiance to an entity that carries out murders on\norders requires Sri Lanka\u2019s law enforcement to eliminate the ideology &amp;\nprosecute those involved in spreading it.
