Despite this nature, the people of Sri Lanka are stuck with past
issues and are interested in sticking in the past issues and exhibiting past
issues with changed features repeatedly. What factors contributed to this
stagnation is worthy to investigate and the current ethnic and religious
problems have clear links to the past. For example, ethnic issues in the
country had been in the country since before King Dutugemunu despite many
attempts to solve it, has been unsuccessful.

The
historical information in the country divulges that people had been changed and
adapted to modernization. The best example is adapting to information
technology. In Europe, Martin Luther was concerned about adapting to
modernization, and in Sri Lanka, Anagarika Dharmapala showed ideas on the
requirement of changing attitudes following modernization and the positive impact
of modernization on society.

Media
contributes to reminding past occurrences and linking such matters to modern
events. Dynamism in the modern world may associate with this standing on past
issues and support to emerging them with recent issues. Media professionals are
in a crisis that handles issues and shows they associate with modernization.
Therefore, the standing of the past issues is a nature that is supported or
contributed by the media. Anyone who asks a media person about this situation
they reluctant to answer the question because he/ she cannot answer, or like to
avoid answering.

The
other point that relates to the reluctance of changing and hanging/standing in
the past is that the impression of people should not forget the past and need
to retrieve the point in history as and when they need to connect. This is a
universal understanding. The problem in Sri Lanka is that this nature has
become a barrier to solving many problems relating to political, social,
cultural, and religious issues. There is a Sri Lanka’s traditional saying that washing,
washing to put them into muds” and this nature of people has become a barrier
to change the society or human behaviour and solving significant problems.

When
I am thinking further about this vicious situation, I feel that many critical
political, social, and religious problems could not be solved or removed in Sri
Lanka as attitudes of people’s reluctance to change. In the modernization
process, people need to change and their attitudes need to go along with modern
thinking. However, the nature of Sri Lanka is going repeatedly forward. This
nature may be a negative aspect of people. How to change this negative aspect
of attitude? The best option is promoting kids to change when they need to
change their attitude.

Many
educators, psychologists, and elders don’t talk about this significant issue
and attempt to hang in the past. Although the identity of ethnicity varies and
the influence of human genes (this is a biological concept) remains without metamorphic
and the behaviour of all ethnic groups remains uniform. Sinhala, Tamil, Muslim,
and other ethnic people in Sri Lanka display manage attitudes similar way. When
educating kids, this topic should include in social studies and kids should be
given a broader understanding of the requirement of changing attitudes and the
benefits of changing attitudes regarding ethnic and religious issues. Many
parents force the kids to consist of their attitudes and I observed Sri Lankan
migrants in other countries follow uniform actions.

Bureaucrats
in education are reluctant to change the content in curriculum documents or
syllabi and many academics are of the view that bureaucrats are stuck with the
attitudes they are familiar with past, and standing on past issues unnecessary
way have links to many problems that are related to attitudes of people.

When changes the
world, it needs changing attitudes, and the system of educating kids needs to
promote modernization of attitudes. The change of attitudes was supported in
all developed countries and why Sri Lanka was being stood in the past and
reluctance to change?

BY EDWARD THEOPHILUS The dynamic nature of the world shows that changing attitudes and many occurring are natural in the world and evidence in history proves that people had been changed their thinking patterns or attitudes towards various issues throughout history.
