The situation of the Press is\nfar worse today<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is totally anti-national\nand anti – Buddhist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A content analysis of\nthe Political Columns of any English language mainstream newspaper will reveal\nthis stark truth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Govt. has the mandate to\nestablish a Commission of Inquiry like what Mrs. Bandaranaike did in\n1963, to investigate and report on matters concerning the reform of the\nNational Press, given the increasing public dissatisfaction expressed by the\nBuddhist public, Buddhist organizations, and the Maha Sangha, about the state\nand activities of the Media. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no space for\nBuddhist opinion in the newspapers today.  It is sad but it must be said\nthat leading Buddhist organizations are exceptionally weak when it comes\nto the defense of Buddhist interests. There is no real Buddhist leadership provided\nby lay Buddhists. They are only Office Bearers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Almost all prominent newspaper columnists are non – Buddhists. Some have Sinhala Buddhist names and use these names to deceive the readers that their views reflect a Buddhist opinion. But in fact, they have a Christian link through one of their parents and are steadfastly loyal to the Church.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The biggest\nachievement of Colonialism and its auxiliary Christianity has been\nits ability to manipulate the identity of people especially brown coloured\npeople in former European colonies. The process continues in India, Sri Lanka,\nand other South Asian and Southeast Asian countries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

An example is the  Jallianwala\nBagh Massacre in Amritsar on April 13, 1919. It is Indian soldiers who\nkilled over 379 unarmed fellow Indians, following orders given by a White\nOfficer. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no reported case of this type of incident happening in\nChinese or Japanese History. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you change your religion into that of an Abrahamic faith\nyour loyalty also changes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that, the Brown man becomes the enemy of the Brown man (and\nwoman) who continues to remain loyal to the ‘ Rata, Jathiya, Agama’ of their\nancestors and cultural heritage. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The missionary schools divided the nation in strict adherence to\nthe colonial policy of Divide and Rule. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today the Editorial Staff of mainstream English language\nnewspapers are full of brown people whose loyalties are to the Vatican\nprimarily.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are products of missionary schools or public schools.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rarely would you find an old Anandian or an old boy of an Olcott\nschool on the Editorial staff of leading English language newspapers?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Public opinion in Sri Lanka is created by scribes who are\nknee-jerk anti – Sinhala and anti-Buddhist.   <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hate speech is directed towards Buddhism and Buddhist monks\ndaily ad nauseam, without state intervention to stop it.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Govt. which came on a huge mandate given mostly by Sinhala\nBuddhists must exercise its lawful power to <\/strong>stop the vilification of Buddhism, demonization of Buddhist\nmonks, and humiliation of Sri Lanka’s Buddhist Heritage, History, and Culture\nthat happens almost on a daily basis. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is easy to establish the hate speech crimes of the scribes of\nthe newspapers through a content analysis of their biased writings.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Portuguese came to conquer and dislodge Buddhism. It was not\nan accident. The Portuguese and the Dutch forbade the practice of\nBuddhism. <\/strong>All the Buddhist Temples in their areas of control were\ndestroyed and monks killed. Those who survived fled to Sitavaka and later\nto Kandy.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lascoreens ( those who embraced the faith of the invaders)\nturned against their original faith i.e. Buddhism, and joined the Portuguese to\nburn down Temples and then construct Catholic Churches on top of the sites of\nBuddhist Temples. Father Queyroz who wrote the monumental treatise ‘ The\nTemporal and Spiritual Conquest of Ceylon’ provides the full list of such\nChurches. An apology and compensation have yet to be paid for this dastardly\ncrime. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Catholic Church likes to play the victim card but the actual\nvictims of 450 years of colonial rule were the Sinhala Buddhists of this\ncountry.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
