Public diplomacy is also called people\u2019s\ndiplomacy.<\/strong> Public\ndiplomacy between Pakistan and Bangladesh is very necessary to bolster the ties\nbetween two brotherly nations. It is the \u2018Public Diplomacy\u2019 which can bring the\ntwo countries under an umbrella. People to People contact can initiate to\nstrengthen the ties melting the ice between two brotherly and neighboring\nstates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where government-to-government\ndiplomacy fails, public diplomacy is very effective there to strengthen the\nties. People-to-people contact between the two countries can turn into a\nholistic diplomatic approach between two countries. Then, formal official\ndiplomacy between the two governments is possible. People-to-people contact\ndiplomacy between Pakistan and Bangladesh may be Cricket diplomacy, cultural\nexchange of people between two countries, communications amongst the authors,\nwriters, professors, students, businesses, businessmen etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Communication between authors,\nprofessors, writers, the general public is a kind of public diplomacy. By this\ndiplomatic approach, authors from both countries can contact each other. Media\npublications and outlets can play a strong role in this connection. For\nexample, Bangladeshi writers didn\u2019t write normally in Pakistani media outlets\nand vice versa. To some extent, there are some issues with that. But after a\nlong time, some Bangladesh writers including me (of course new generation)\nstarts to write in Pakistani media outlets. This time, we see a new trend of\ncommunication amongst the people between Pakistan and Bangladesh. They are\nsending their write-ups continuously to Pakistani media outlets. Basically,\nthey want to establish relations with Pakistani authors, people through\nPakistani media outlets. They are interested to build up a strong relationship\nwith the other parts. Not only do they want to establish relations, bondage but\nalso expressed their views on Pakistan. They are also interested to inform the\nPakistani generation about Bangladesh. Won\u2019t it be a good sign for\nstrengthening the ties? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We want to know about Pakistani\nsociety, strengthen our ties and bondage with Pakistani people. We want to\npublish our write-ups in Pakistani media outlets on Bangladesh,\nBangladesh-Pakistan ties, new generation\u2019s thinking on Pakistan. We wanted to\ninform Pakistani people about modern Bangladesh. We tried to reach out to\nPakistani people through Pakistani media outlets. Basically, we wanted to\nconvey our messages to the Pakistani people. Isn\u2019t it public diplomacy? One\nday, this type of Public Diplomacy can turn into formal state-level diplomacy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Social media, print\nmedia have a great role to connect people with each other. Pakistani media outlets especially\nprint media can and should play role in this regard. They should cooperate with\nBangladeshi writers. They should show their interest to publish their write-ups\nin Pakistani media outlets. The publishers and editors of Pakistani media\noutlets should consider this with special attention.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Basically, media can play a strong\nrole in the case of public diplomacy. The owners, publishers, and editors of\nPakistani media outlets should understand, think and consider this because this\ntype of public diplomacy can normalize the bilateral ties between two states.\nOne day, Pakistan and Bangladesh would be regional allies for ensuring their\nmutual interest. Bilateral business, trade, a cultural exchange may be\nsmoothened.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pakistani media outlets such as \u2018Pakistan Today\u2019 can play a strong\nrole to make public opinion to influence the policymakers of Pakistan for\nsmoothing the strained ties between Bangladesh and Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pakistan Today is a widely circulated\nEnglish-language newspaper in Pakistan. Pakistan Today is a popular and liberal\ndaily in Pakistan. Pakistan\nToday<\/em><\/strong> is a Pakistani<\/a> English-language daily newspaper<\/a>, published by Nawa Media Corporation<\/em> from three Pakistani<\/a> cities \u2013 Lahore<\/a>, Punjab<\/a>; Karachi<\/a>, Sindh<\/a>; and Islamabad<\/a>, Islamabad Capital\nTerritory<\/a>. The newspaper was\nfounded by its editor and publisher, senior journalist,former federal minister Arif Nizami<\/a>, in 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to their media outlets, policymakers and decision-makers\nread the news publication regularly. Its hard-hitting insightful editorials and\nopinions are keenly followed by the government, lawmakers, diplomats, and\nbusiness people alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pakistan Today can play a very important role in strengthening the\nties between Bangladesh and Pakistan through public diplomacy. It has been\npublishing some pertinent news, reports, articles related to\nBangladesh-Pakistan relations. It has been publishing many write-ups regarding\nthe current strained ties between Pakistan-Bangladesh and its solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pakistan\u2019s \u2018Pakistan Today\u2019 can play a strong role in this regard.\nAccordingly, Pakistan\u2019s \u2018Pakistan Today\u2019 can and should play a very significant\nrole to smooth the strained relations by influencing the policymakers, public\nthrough their heart-hitting write-ups in these such ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pakistan Today can publish all kinds of news, reports, and\neditorials articles regarding Pakistan-Bangladesh brotherly ties to make a\npublic opinion that pressurizes the policymakers in smoothing the bilateral\nrelations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pakistan Today has started to publish the write-ups of Bangladeshi\nwrites from August 01, 2021. That was the great decision of the decision-makers\nof the \u2018Pakistan Today\u2019. Now, many Bangladeshi writers are interested to write\nin Pakistani media outlets. But Pakistan Today has started this. They are\ncontinuing it. These types of activities will turn into people-to-people\ncooperation between the two states. People of both states will be able to know\neach other.
