This history recalls the origins of Toyota and Suzuki, Nissan and Daihatsu, etc, in the artisans who learned from making weapons to promote development of machine-making workshops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Machine tools <\/em><\/strong>have been described as the \u2018machines nobody knows<\/strong>,\u2019 and for good reason\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lathes & milling, drilling, or grinding machines \u2013 all of which are machine tools \u2013<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

are ungainly slabs of steel & iron that cut metal using brute force.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But they vary\u2026 \u2018as much in power, size & complexity in the field of metal cutting<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

as do elephants<\/strong> & earthworms<\/strong> in the animal kingdom<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Machine tools are in fact the mother or master machines<\/strong>,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

the machines that make all machines<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every <\/em><\/strong>manufactured product<\/em><\/strong> is made either by a machine tool<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

or by a machine that was made by a machine tool.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
