Wimalawansa<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Here are some Island articles that might interest you and your professional colleagues.&nbsp; Please feel free to forward them and comment on the journal website at the end of the article for the benefit of other readers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An article related to CKDu (CKD-CTN) submitted to the Island in&nbsp;July 2023&nbsp;was published only on December 8<sup>th<\/sup>, 2023:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/sunil.wimalawansa\/posts\/pfbid02EPmGh6FrHPEhsodQ6WUWs6NbpmWNWheWNMpr5kNkFA6h3Xqun3syg6LrozZ8Gewkl\">https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/sunil.wimalawansa\/posts\/pfbid02EPmGh6FrHPEhsodQ6WUWs6NbpmWNWheWNMpr5kNkFA6h3Xqun3syg6LrozZ8Gewkl<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/island.lk\/eradicating-ckdu-from-sri-lanka-is-straightforward-what-is-preventing-it\/\">https:\/\/island.lk\/eradicating-ckdu-from-sri-lanka-is-straightforward-what-is-preventing-it\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The author has no conflicts of interest to declare.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Surprisingly, some continue to mislead that agrochemical causes CKDu, as misled by a handful of (politically motivated) people in SL for personal gains. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is no credible scientific evidence that glyphosate or heavy metals cause Chronic Kidney Disease of Unknown etiology (CKDu).&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Evidence suggests that CKDu originates from multiple natural (factors)causes \u2014stagnation&nbsp;of well-water (viz. water hardness\u2012elevated Ca<sup>2+<\/sup>&nbsp;and fluoride levels, and others).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please consider including constructive comments at the end of this article for the benefit of others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These observations are linked to the economic mess in Sri Lanka, which significantly decreased agricultural output by inappropriately banning glyphosate in all agro-products.
