The US, French & Canadian kidnapping of Haiti\u2019s President, then the driving away of a Sri Lanka President who received the largest electoral mandate in history\u2026 is a tale that bears pondering over & over, even as it shapeshifts (see\u00a0ee Focus<\/em><\/strong>, Will IMF\/WB ruin rice production in Sri Lanka as it did in Haiti?)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 \u2018If the country was turned into one giant tourist hotel, we would not need universities anymore,\u2019 declared\u00a0SBD de Silva<\/strong>.\u00a0Tourism<\/strong>\u00a0is yet another \u2018rentier\u2019 (making money off unproductive assets) game, that does not demand any new technological skills, but only making beds & serving tea, and trying to rip off the world\u2019s greatest rip-off artistes \u2013 white people \u2013 who know well the real game in tourism. All the inputs are imported (airplanes, buses, furniture, utensils, equipment), most of the profits are \u2018retained\u2019 abroad, and all we really sell is the \u2018scenery\u2019 \u2013 a view!\u00a0ee\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>continues reproducing the Communist Party\u2019s\u00a0Way Forward<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0program, this time on \u2018Tourism\u2019, pointing to its control by yet another mafia \u2013 \u2018an oligopoly of the largest resort owners\u2019<\/strong>. However, if anyone can give any proof of any country, town or village, dependent on tourism, able to \u2018advance\u2019 to modernity, while not being destroyed by drugs & prostitution, please do tell us, pronto! Meanwhile, the latest scam to \u2018balance payments\u2019 or import & export bills, has an expert suggesting we could depend on the escalating wars in Europe for more tourists with their persnickety foreign exchanges!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 And another classic story from this week, is the plan to privatize\u00a0Peru\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0Wonder of the World \u2013\u00a0Machu Picchu<\/strong>, about whose \u2018heights\u2019\u00a0Pablo Neruda<\/strong>\u00a0once sang: \u2018I scaled the ladder of the earth\u2026\/ up to you, Macchu Picchu, High citadel of terraced stones\u2026<\/em>\u2019 This week also saw lost-Korean yankee-collaborator Julie Chung scale \u2018Adam\u2019s Peak\u2019: \u2018appreciating\u2026 interfaith reverence at the summit\u2019. Peru, too, saw the US threaten to murder, then jailed their popularly elected president. If English fools can call Sri Padha, \u2018Adam\u2019s Peak\u2019,\u00a0ee<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0was wondering if we could rename Canterbury Cathedral, or Jerusalem or Mecca, with Sinhala names, and get them to repeat it? So, so, so, any bets on a Greenpeace Debt-for-Nature-Swap for Samanalakanda?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 2022 saw \u2018independent\u2019 Sri Lanka\u2019s first successful coup<\/strong> d\u2019\u00e9tat. Will it continue its \u2018successes\u2019 for the next 75 years, let alone 6 months? Like a stunted \u2018independence\u2019 was \u2018successful\u2019 for the last 75?  1948 did not see any Englishmen (or women) & their collaborators put on criminal trial, but they were instead welcomed to continue their domination through their colonial import-export economy. So was 1948 a coup too to install the USA as the latest colonial power in Sri Lanka? The intermittent mass murder is perhaps another testimony to its \u2018success\u2019? The next few months takes aim to tell us where this 2022 coup is going. This coup has had no (in 1962, mostly Christian & Tamil) military & police officials, leading the charge of the lite brigade, this time. They were told to \u2018hold their horses\u2019, for the moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This ee Focus<\/em><\/strong> therefore looks at the romanticized link between \u2018art\u2019 & colonialism (see Yaka and the Bloody Bankers<\/strong>), and also on the \u2018soft power\u2019 of US foreign policy wonk Joseph Nye, who advocated Obama use cruise missiles on Syrian President Assad (see ee Economists<\/em><\/strong>, \u2018The USA can [also] coerce by economic means\u2019 )<\/p>\n\n\n\n

     Again, South Africa<\/strong> has further lessons for us and the world. An heir to the Anglo Vaal<\/strong> mining empire built on stolen land in Africa, and owned by Zionist Jews, Rob Hersov,<\/strong> signals their own impending not-so-soft coup in South Africa. The whites are now even demanding a separate state in the Cape. Sri Lanka is intimately connected with this Cape, as King Rajasinghe II executed the father of the first Dutch settler there (after whom many a stolen South African landmark is named!      Zionist Hersov recommends allying with the white countries, opposing South Africa\u2019s links with Russia & China, and promoting the standard \u2018color revolution\u2019 playbook used in Sri Lanka and elsewhere, deploying \u2018activists\u2019, politicians, \u2018civil society\u2019, entertainers & influencers, and businessmen, bewailing \u2018corruption<\/em>\u2019, lack of \u2018rule of law\u2019 \u2018human rights\u2019, etc, while telling his allies to target 18-25-year-old Africans as voters, for they know little of South Africa\u2019s history (see ee Sovereignty<\/em><\/strong>, Rob Hersov \u2018Reserves a Special Place in Hell\u2019<\/strong>). This week we also found out that Ghana\u2019s textbooks have erased all mention of Kwame Nkrumah<\/strong> (see ee Sovereignty<\/em><\/strong>, The Most Dangerous African). So, was the temporary accession to Mandela, yet another staged \u2018revolution of color\u2019? (see ee Quotes<\/em><\/strong>, Zionists in the ANC)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Imperialism\u2019s strategy in Sri Lanka becomes eminently clearer<\/strong> every day, not just in a new London Financial Times<\/em> interview (see ee Focus<\/em><\/strong>, ), as the US & their neutered European pitbulls escalate terror in West Asia. And while bombing Palestine to smithereens (talk about, 10,000 children in 100 days! Save-the-Children<\/em> indeed!), the US & England are happily funding \u2018freedom\u2019 at art festivals in Galle & Matara, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

     And since we cannot eat this art, we must not forget that real food is the cash of cash! This week\u2019s media-diversion about the Online Safety Bill<\/strong> (ironically led by the US\u2019 Facebook, Google, etc, calling themselves the Asia Internet Coalition<\/strong>!) like December\u2019s media-amplified opposition to <\/strong>VAT<\/strong>, diverted from even greater issues, such as the wholesale selloff of the country\u2019s national assets<\/strong>, and more particularly, the destruction of local rice production<\/strong>, by making cultivator access to its main inputs unaffordable: water, seeds, fertilizer, pesticide etc & fuel. US thinktank Advocata, as pointed out, will then declare it cheaper to import rice<\/strong>, \u2018freedom-fries\u2019 & other \u2018sophisticated\u2019 GM foods, given such US-IMF policies!<\/strong> (see ee Focus<\/em><\/strong>, Rice)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

     Imperialism\u2019s sabotage of health & education<\/strong> (led by the US\u2019 World Bank) accompanies the overall attack on Sri Lanka\u2019s economy, especially agriculture & industry<\/strong> (led by the US\u2019 IMF) and just as importantly, on its sovereignty<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

     This week it was revealed, not very widely, that the fake medicine scam is linked to the accelerated demands of the \u2018Indian Credit Line (ICL)\u2019. The revelation does not add that such \u2018credit lines\u2019 come sotto-sotto with commands about which foreign companies to buy from. This week also saw further undermining of the health system by allowing hospitals to buy their own drugs & equipment! Such moves are all part of the attack to divide Sri Lanka, and at its root lies the subversion of central state power. We will now be subject to the \u2018Western Despotism\u2019 <\/em>of their multinational corporations<\/strong> (MNC<\/strong>s). Tamil Eelam in the north, and Muslim Arabistan in the east, are the default threats (see ee Quotes<\/em><\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The English media in Sri Lanka (it\u2019s by no means a \u2018Sri Lankan media\u2019) obliges the US in their \u2018hard power<\/em>\u2019 wars<\/strong>, by claiming it\u2019s somehow the West Asians who are creating trouble in the Red Sea, when by international law of the oceans & seas (which the US claims to uphold, unlike many other international laws & courts like the ICJ and ICC, it refuses to join), it is up to the neighbouring countries to decide such \u2018freedom\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

     Recall that the US Marines (with their high-leather collars to protect their necks from scimitars!)  were first set up to wage war on North Africa to ensure the US\u2019 illegal trafficking of opium from Turkey via the Mediterranean \u2013 we can say the US was only exercising their armed right to \u2018free&open trade\u2019 by \u2018competing\u2019 with what was to became their older English brother\u2019s most-lucrative \u2018commerce\u2019 19th<\/sup> century \u2013 in opium, after their horrific 16-19th<\/sup> trade in chattel slavery<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018\u2022\u00a0English as a Covert language<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 the use of the\u00a0passive voice & infinitive,<\/strong>\u00a0continue to dominate\u00a0headlines<\/em><\/strong>. Not just dominate but extend their influence.\u00a0Palestine<\/strong>\u00a0comes to mind. From the President to his family\u2019s newspapers, they all avoid naming the USA & England & Europe (in shorthand, the whites & their kneegrows) for organizing the horror in West Asia, from Yemen to Palestine. Whereas every story about the Houthis or Hezbollah never forgets to adjective it with \u2018Iran-backed\u2019, while\u00a0US-bankrolled-&-armed Israel<\/strong>\u00a0never get such modifiers. The infinitively tiny word, \u2018to<\/em>\u2019 \u2013 gets to headline grand intentions and promises never fulfilled \u2013 from the US-backed World Bank, etc., to run-of-the-mill politicians. \u2018To independence\u2019 (meaning, to postpone) \u2013 is yet to make it as a verb, even as the noun \u2018disappear\u2019 was promoted as a verb during those brief postcolonial moments post-1973 \u2013 \u2018to disappear\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
