Prof. Hudson McLean<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n

LankaWeb has come a long way since the inception.<\/p>\n

From a proverbial gossip column to a respected serious journal, well moderated, with a band of civilised, cultured contributors.<\/p>\n

Opinions differ amongst the Scribes, but decent civility has been an important virtue amongst the clan.<\/p>\n

To my surprise I found that apart from the local and expatriate Sri Lankan supporters, sympathisers,\u00a0 readers & contributors, there are independent observers in many countries who read LankaWeb several times a week.<\/p>\n

Without going into detail, some even mentioned, in a positive manner, their opinion on a few contributors, which I take this opportunity to mention.<\/p>\n

Top of the pile is-;<\/p>\n

H.L.D.Mahindapala – For his analytical approach in detail. Readable prose, well presented as an experienced journalist.<\/p>\n

Ms Shenali Waduge – Patriotic Buddhist Sinhela lady, aggressive but interesting style.<\/p>\n

Lorenzo – Changed the sides but that is exactly how it should be. Patriotic, factual, interesting, always there.<\/p>\n

Charles S. Perera – Good contributor.<\/p>\n

M D P\u00a0 DISSANAYAKE – Adds colour to publications.<\/p>\n

Prof. Hudson McLean – Supporter of Sinhela with no limits and with a negative zero-tolarent attitude towards Tamil mindset per se. LoL!!<\/p>\n

One point which was mentioned, more than once, was the overall Sinhela National feeling, with a staunch bitterness towards the ungrateful mindset of the Tamil, in general.<\/p>\n

Then a question on how the Christian-Catholic Sinhela should be encouraged to take a more active positive stance towards Unity.<\/p>\n

Understandable that until SWRD took power, Ceylon was dominated by the British educated Christian-Catholic Sinhela & Tamil Barristers, LSE Accountants, Sandhurst Colonels, Royal Naval College Admirals & Commodore etc.<\/p>\n

Clever SWRD named his new political Party as Sri Lanka Freedom Party, and then changed the name of the Island from Ceylon to Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n

Now the nationality sounds as if every single person belongs to the SLFP!!<\/p>\n

I personally feel that the time is right for another Change-of-Name to Sinhela. After all, it will sound synonymous with the language Sinhala\u201d and the citizenship Sinhalese\u201d!<\/p>\n

Sri Lanka has done the full circle now, and hopefully LankaWeb shall continue to contribute towards keeping an objective watchful eye, to maintain a Unified Sovereign State.<\/p>\n

Question to LankaWeb readers! ….<\/p>\n
