I have never heard or met Dinesh Gunawardane but in my very young days, I remember both Philip Gunawardane and his wife Vivien Gunawardane, and heard Vivien address political meetings.<\/p>\n

The current political scene looks a bit like the history in Burma or Myanmar when Aung San Suu Kyi, opposition leader of Myanmar and the winner of the 1991 Nobel Prize for Peace, was under house arrest.<\/p>\n

In Sri Lanka, when Mahinda Rajapaksa with Gothabaya and General Sarath Fonseka, thrashed the butt out of the LTTE Tamil Tiger Terrorists, there was no Nobel Peace Prize. Not even a public comment of gratitude by USA – EU – Canada – India. Except Ms. Navanethem Pillay, South Africa, 2008-2014, a Tamil to the core, tried her best to degrade the Sri Lankan government.<\/p>\n

In my personal opinion, for what it is worth, (the Editor of LankaWeb may confirm), I have stood by Sri Lanka and the Sinhala community, since my first contribution. And that stands today!\u00a0 I will continue to follow this stream, from my pedestal<\/p>\n

I have criticized when Mahinda Rajapaksa and especially Namal, when either of them strayed from the main path and it is pretty obvious that, when MR was grounded, the Sri Lankan patriotic community felt what they have lost.<\/p>\n

The ideal situation for Sri Lanka is, when the Parliamentary Election hits the road, SLFP appoints and supports the candidature of Mahinda Rajapaksa as the Prime Ministerial candidate.\u00a0 This is the best inevitable solution to save the hide of My3, during his one & only tenure as the President.<\/p>\n

When the time comes for the next Presidential Election, Mahinda should stand aside and allow Gothabaya Rajapaksa to be the Presidential Candidate.<\/p>\n

And send Namal by Diplomatic Courier to Afghanistan or Iraq sharpen pencils in the Embassy.<\/p>\n

Point regarding Chinese owning Sri Lanka reclaimed Port City of Colombo-:<\/p>\n

Leasing a part of the New Port City on a Long Lease, as done in Hong Kong, to the Chinese, contra for investment, should be reconsidered, as not to contravene Sovereignty\u00a0 of Sri Lanka. But selling even an inch of Sri Lankan land mass to Indians, Chinese or to any other, must be Non-negotiable.<\/p>\n

Apart from certain other issues which were debated by both Contributors and Commentators in LankaWeb, The subject of the New Port City of Colombo, must be taken with equal importance, in his Manisfesto by Mahinda Rajapaksa.<\/p>\n

Sri Lanka must remain Non-Aligned, and maintain Her unique strategic position in the Indian Ocean!<\/p>\n
