In Sri Lanka persons or groups even with very small vote base have their own political parties.\u00a0 Amongst major parties, Mr Ranil Wickremasinghe is the owner of United National Party.\u00a0 Mrs Chadrika Kumaratunga is the owner of Sri Lanka Freedom Party.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Amongst minor parties, Jathika Hela Urumaya, Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna, Democratic Party, Mahajana Essath Peramuna, Jathika Nidahas Peramuna, New Lanka Sama Samaja Party, Pivithuru Hetak etc. consist of a long list of minor political parties with the identities, flag and Head Offices.<\/span><\/p>\n

Apart from Mr Ranil Wickremasinghe and Mrs Chandrika Kumaratunga, the other leading player in Sri Lakan politics is non other than Mr Mahinda Rajapakse, who is still without a political alliance that can be directly controlled by him.\u00a0\u00a0 Yet Mr Rajapakse is the front runner in the field capable of defeating either RW or CBK hands down.\u00a0\u00a0 Yet Mr Mahinda Rajapakse has no political party, no flag and no Head Office.\u00a0 Considering\u00a0 MR as the leader who governed the nation for 9 years, the lack of political vehicle controlled by him is a serious lapse on his part.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Mr Mahinda Rajapakse should not be deceived by the promises from President Maithireepala Sirisena, who is a political and financial recruit of the UNP and Diaspora.\u00a0 During past 6 months, Wimal Weerawansa, Dinesh Gunawardene, Vasudewa Nanayakkara and Udaya Gammanpila marshalled the troops from Nugegoda to Matara with great commitment and trust.\u00a0 These four pillars will stand firm for Mr Mahinda Rajapakse and their untiring contribution and effort ought to be recognised.<\/span><\/p>\n

President Maithreepala is attempting to use the popularity of Mr Mahinda Rajapakse, to salvage the SLFP. The President is also attempting to use and convince\u00a0 Mr Mahinda Rajapakse to give nominations to political discards such as Mervyn Silva, Duminda Silva, Arjuna Ranatunga, Rajitha Senaratne, Hirunika, Jeevan, Mahinda Samarasinghe etc, all of them will otherwise\u00a0 be eliminated at the next election.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The secret agenda of President Maithireepala Sirisena will be “NOT TO BRING BACK MAHINDA RAJAPAKSE\u201d, but to “BRING BACK CHANDRIKA”\u00a0 after winning the election through Mr Mahinda Rajapakse’s popularity.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>The President MS could delete the name of one National List nominee from the published list and add Chandrika after winning the election, who will then contest the role of Prime Minister, with the support of UNP, TNA and remnants\u00a0 of SLFP.<\/span><\/p>\n
