They were directly behind the vicious slanders relating to misappropriation of government funds that were spread against the Rajapaksa Family to bring down the regime of Mahinda Rajapaksa. Aptly funded by NGOs they were in a position to mislead particularly the rural youth as in the past who are the most vulnerable in the politics of any country. This fact is more than confirmed by the post election results. Now their political future depends on proving some of these slanders by bringing them to justice. That is why they are in such a haste to bring some of them behind bars. The legal institutions and the solicitor general are quite often criticized for their alleged delays. But the reality is that these slanders are baseless as they are weaved on heresy, eavesdropping and disconnected data supplied by their stooges who work in relevant institutions. They are very good at number crunching as no body knows the real truth behind them unless you do a very careful study from scratch as so many people and institutions are involved in\u00a0 government transactions which are done in accordance with Administrativ and Financial regulations. Hence, such allegations have to be carefully investigated with patience. Because in \u00a0framing charges, the solicitor general is answerable to defense lawyers and judges. This drama on their part is to avoid the wrath of people for deceiving them and hoodwink the public further.<\/p>\n

Despite the revelation of true state of affairs by both Wijedasa Rajapaksa and Thilak Marapana regarding the Avanguard incident, Anura Kumara is still insistent on taking the case to courts as their ulterior motive is to somehow or other\u00a0 involve Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and drag him to courts. Patalee Champika Ranawaka and Rajitaha Senarathna two of the most vicious persons in Sri Lankan politics are directly behind them in spreading these diabolical slanders and in attempting to bring Rajapaksa family behind bars .Ironically they do not utter a word about the fraudulent Central Bank Bond issue involving billions of rupees and Arjun Mahendran still being the governor of the Central Bank who is directly connected in this regard. Isn\u2019t this downright hypocrisy on their part.<\/p>\n

Now let us examine their other role. They pose off and talk as if they are real saviours of the country. Unfortunately the younger generation is not aware of their true colours. We who have seen their 1971 and 1988 insurrections know the amount of damage done by them\u00a0 to this country which is second only to the devastation done by Prabhakaran. On both occasions they misled the rural Sinhala Buddhist youth of this country and led about 70,000 of them to their gallows and most of them were subjected to tortures beyond human imagination. Batalanda is one such torture chamber for which the present Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe was found guilty and recommended for the removal of his civil rights. Ironically Anura Kumara is one of his ardent supporters and relies on his good governance. Actually it was Mahinda Rajapaksa who came forward to prevent these massacres by taking this case to the notice of International Human Rights Organizations. While they were involved in these activities they robbed the public of their gold jewelry. They robbed the banks, burned the transforms and property making colossal damages to the country. As a living example of their atrocities there is still \u00a0about 40 kilograms of gold jewelry in the vaults of the Central Bank which were robbed from the innocent civilians of the country. While I was in the Banking Department of the Central Bank I was directly involved in evaluating their value to auction them and establish a fund for their rehabilitation. But due to certain legal implications this was never done and the jewelry is still there.<\/p>\n

On the other hand they never utter a war about the tremendous and innumerable amount of money and resources saved to the country by Mahinda Rajapaksa in ending the war except his meager expenditure on constructions which ultimately belongs to the government.\u00a0 This is not without reasons because they definitely know that their biggest enemy is Mahinda Rajapaksa.
