Russian Aerospace Forces have launched some 2,000 aerial bombs in Syria, destroying numerous extremist infrastructure targets over four days, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0the statement, 1,920 bombs were launched against\u00a0militants since\u00a0December 5.<\/p>\n

“Seventy command centers, 21 training camps, six munitions and explosives plants, 43 munitions depots and six oil objects were destroyed,” the ministry said.<\/p>\n

Intensified airstrikes from\u00a0Russian forces have allowed the Syrian army to\u00a0develop its offensive in\u00a0key regions, the statement added.<\/p>\n

“As a result, the strikes have created the conditions for\u00a0further offensive action of\u00a0the Syrian army in\u00a0cooperation with\u00a0other armed forces in\u00a0the areas of\u00a0Aleppo, Idlib, mountainous Latakia and Palmyra.”<\/p>\n

Moscow has conducted airstrikes against\u00a0Daesh, also known as\u00a0ISIL\/the Islamic State, in\u00a0Syria since\u00a0September 30, acting at\u00a0the request of\u00a0the legitimate government of\u00a0Bashar al-Assad. Russian warships stationed in\u00a0the Caspian Sea have also launched successful cruise missile strikes against\u00a0the terrorist group.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
