By Ishara Gamage Ceylon Finance Today: Sri Lanka will move forward with Chinese funded projects without any hassle, Development Strategies and International Trade Minister Malik Samarawickrama said yesterday (9th).<\/em><\/strong> <\/p>\n

Amidst fear generated after the speech by the Prime Minister to tighten our belts as they intent to increase VAT, impose capital gain tax and most probable imposition of VAT on Health Care, and the news \u00a0\u00a0above was a blessing in disguise<\/p>\n

I myself as a ship builder , \u00a0provided much needed information to the Chinese company to build dockyard to build super tankers and carry out ship conversions to oil rigs and they are in the process of preparing a financial proposal<\/p>\n

I took some Indian delegation from the Ministry of s Shipping Trincomalee and showed the best area to build ships near\u00a0 Sampur\u00a0 closer to the upcoming Indian \u00a0coal power plant<\/p>\n

We ourselves have started smaller shipyard in Mutal ,Beruwla and Galle with the investment from Walkers Engineering Ltd<\/p>\n

If god helps us both China and India can be our saviours , but not the West and USA<\/p>\n

Of course MR was on right track though we criticize him but his grave mistake was keeping closed eyed over nepotism and corruption by his own kind !!<\/p>\n

JVP and Joint Opposition should be more sensible and realistic and look at \u00a0such proposed actions with positive mind and give some support to Maithree and Ranil and allow breathing time<\/p>\n

PORT CITY will surely enhance Yacht Marina Industry if we convert the area to little Monaco\u201d<\/p>\n

With hotels, pubs and clubs in that isolated area rich clientele can generate much needed income and the Highway connection from the Airport via Kelaniya \u00a0and Port boundary wall to Fort will draw many foreigners<\/p>\n

Ship Building Industry \u00a0\u00a0in Hambnatota and Trinco may bring both Chinese Indian and workers who can undertake jobs which our young generation do not want to do as they prefer driving Indian Three wheelers and peddle drugs !!!!!<\/p>\n

All construction companies in Sri Lanka, who are now idling after the government stalled the construction projects will have the opportunity to undertake \u00a0work and we will generate the 1 million jobs promised by PM<\/p>\n

Mr Pringes \u2013The Belgian who made a compulsive presentation during the ongoing Investment Forum \u00a0has also mentioned that Yacht and Marina Industry should develop as he is a Yacht Builder<\/p>\n

I am sure all three mega projects such as Colombo Port City ,Hambantota Dockyard and 1000 acre Chinese Industrial Zone with an International Airport in Trinco with a Indian Ship Building Project may be the only survival to the Yahapalanaya \u00a0government \u00a0and for Sri Lanka<\/p>\n

I wish them Good Luck wholeheartedly providing that Implementation Mechanism at high gear is in place like during Premadasa time but in a bigger scale<\/p>\n
