The newly appointed Inspector General of Police\u00a0 Mr Pujitha Jayasundera\u00a0 must receive the greatest accolade now\u00a0 that\u00a0 he holds the sword to bring back the glory of Police force in Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n

PJ\u00a0 has gone through the Mill.\u00a0 He is well known as a robust speaker and a honest, hardworking, illustrious, devoted fighter with plenty of vigour. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Thus far PJ’s name is unblemished. His skills of public speaking is an asset, once again clearly demonstrated during the\u00a0 first media conference.\u00a0 However sadly , some of the words he used in his Sinhala speech, I could not understand. “\u0d85\u0d9a\u0dbb\u0dca\u0db8\u0db1\u200d\u0dba \u0dad\u0dd0\u0db1\u0dca \u0db4\u200d\u0dbb\u0dad\u0dd2 \u0dc0\u0dd2\u0dc4\u0dd2\u0dba\u0dd4\u0d9c\u0dad\u0db1\u0dba \u0d9a\u0dd2\u0dbb\u0dd3\u0db8” I said at once to my wife, “\u0daf\u0dd9\u0dba\u0dd2\u0dba\u0ddd \u0dc3\u0dcf\u0d9a\u0dca\u0d9a\u0dd2”.<\/p>\n

However, his Sinhala vocabulary during the media conference\u00a0 gave the impression that\u00a0 PJ might turn Sri Lankan Police Force to the standards of Icelandic Police, to be on top of the world.<\/p>\n

PJ did send some strong messages to the media during his media conference, as reported by Derana News on 22 April 2016.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 There is no doubt that the entire media personalities were shell shocked by his comments.\u00a0 He said, in future there will be no comments from the Police Officers to the media on pending cases.\u00a0 He went on merrily to stamp his authority that in future the media spokesperson will outline the outcome of pending cases.<\/p>\n

Has PJ\u00a0 frightened the Press?\u00a0 Has he bulldozed the Press?\u00a0 Will\u00a0 he excavate the graves to bury the media freedom of Sri Lanka?<\/p>\n

Did Ranil, Chandrika and Maithree get the right man to harm their political enemies?\u00a0 Or did Ranil, Chandrika and Maithree get the wrong man ( just like President Mahinda Rajapakse appointing\u00a0 Sarath Fonseka as Army Commander) with a sword and a boomerang?<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
