After the selection of the IGP recently an activist group known as Decent Lanka 2015 (appeared as headline news The Island) which includes journalist Kusal Perera and lawyer Srinath Perera accused the CC chaired by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya of “bluffing” the people. These are few among a lot of authoritative persons you find in Sri Lanka that can put forward a fool proof analysis if a blunder is made in the selection criteria. As they have achieved that task quite competently I have nothing to add on that matter but I am here to bring to the highlight an ignorant<\/strong> nature of a balanced commission who rest of the public perceived to believe to put their act together skillfully!<\/p>\n

Anywhere in the Globe whenever an election is called to select a Person or a collection of Persons depending on the situation at that point in time, it is the practice to call in Nominations by a nominated Person of authority to accept legible applicants and after initial preliminaries a date will be set aside for the selection of a suitable nominee or nominees for the task.<\/p>\n

All over the Globe election time for any event is very important as the selection of the members for that particular task depends on the votes of the voters. Voters are of various levels of understanding<\/strong>, their task is to indicate their preference of the contesting candidates by putting a cross<\/strong> or a tick<\/strong> or a Y<\/strong>es\/N<\/strong>o in a box.<\/p>\n

When the counting time comes invariably you get Spoilt<\/strong>\u201d votes, this is the reality in voting due to ignorance<\/strong>\u201d of various levels of understanding <\/strong>in voters!<\/p>\n

It was time to select winner from the two contestants!<\/p>\n

Now eight<\/strong> erudite (obviously) had to cast their vote secretly(scam), chairman must have used his calculator, found 5 in favour of one, 1 in favour of the other Lo and Behold <\/strong>there\u2019s a SPOILT<\/strong>\u201d one too!<\/p>\n

Now the Million Dollar\u201d question is who is this buffoon<\/strong>\u201d out of the seemingly<\/strong>\u201d erudite who couldn\u2019t cast a valid Vote to do justice by the public although it was a dead rubber! The result was a foregone conclusion with hilarious theatrics!<\/p>\n

I am certain lots of people may have observed this weakling and had a hearty laugh!<\/p>\n
