{"id":54362,"date":"2016-05-03T12:42:01","date_gmt":"2016-05-03T19:42:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lankaweb.com\/news\/items\/?p=54362"},"modified":"2016-05-03T12:42:01","modified_gmt":"2016-05-03T19:42:01","slug":"fcid-to-prosecute-chinese-company","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lankaweb.com\/news\/items\/2016\/05\/03\/fcid-to-prosecute-chinese-company\/","title":{"rendered":"FCID to prosecute Chinese company\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026."},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Dr Sarath Obeysekera\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>When I read the news above in a state controlled news paper ,I was surprised about the way the media with the state apparatus behave.<\/p>\n<p>Why should FCID prosecute the Chinese Company who has executed a contract for \u00a0the government ?<\/p>\n<p>If they think that the Chinese Company has donated money to any party to distribute among the people by way of handing over Silredi or caps or any other tea shirt they should prosecute the parties whi requested the bribe .<\/p>\n<p>They also should have more important items to attend<\/p>\n<p>During the regime of Premadasa similar things happened Companies which executed state \u00a0\u00a0contracts were required to contribute to Gangramaya to distribute umbrellas to the ( mahouts) \u00a0keepers of elephants who attend a the annual pageant ,and next year they \u00a0had to donate over 100 bicycles to each elephant keeper !<\/p>\n<p>When the May Day comes ruling parties collect money from many contactors to pay for expenses during may day rally<\/p>\n<p>They were companies who donated money \u00a0for tea shirts and caps<\/p>\n<p>It is high time that government get on with development program and stop witch hunting pretending to be in glass houses and throwing stones !<\/p>\n<p>This is third world and we have no ethics hence let us live with it and be sensible !<\/p>\n<p>Dr Sarath Obeysekera<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr Sarath Obeysekera\u00a0 When I read the news above in a state controlled news paper ,I was surprised about the way the media with the state apparatus behave.
