When I sit in the front seat in the car with my driver ,doing all sorts of manoeuvring to avoid collision with a Tuk Tuk ,Motor Bike or a Private Bus ,he puts on the radio to listen to Balumgala by Net FM and later switches on to TNL Radio to listen to \u00a0!\u201dRata Yana Athaa and also a program where chairman of the channel makes \u00a0comments\u00a0 about daily \u00a0news in the papers with an analysis .<\/p>\n

When you listen to Balumgala or Unlimited you can listen for hours as it is an interesting and contemporary program ,where the Radio Channel presents\u00a0 some activities taking place in the\u00a0 country which is quite unique and with critical eye .<\/p>\n

In TNL there is a program in the morning and evening \u00a0where chairman does a radio commenting program presented by a dull voiced lady .reading the daily paper headlines ,and expects the chairman to make comments .I was listening to the way the chairman trying to analyse the new items which are\u00a0 almost all the time anti government\u00a0 and he tries to explain to the listeners about how laughable the news are.But every time he tries to do it he fails .<\/p>\n

He takes few minutes to reply and keeps almost 20 -30 seconds gap between sentences making\u00a0 the listeners frustrated .<\/p>\n

I kept telling my driver to change the program not because I am Aniti Government\u00a0 but because it is\u00a0 so badly presented\u00a0 and not Listenable<\/p>\n

Chairman does not have any knack of being a radio talker hence his participation is absolutely unlistenable.<\/p>\n

May be TNL definition may be changed from Teleshan to Terrible and Not Listenable !!!!!!!<\/p>\n

I remember the big mouthed Hudson leading radio talks for hours in Lakhanda which are quite dynamic and high pitched \u00a0( but crap and often Pro Mahinda ) .Him being the chairman of Radio Ceylon should not \u00a0have made such comments about opposition at that time but the propaganda worked .<\/p>\n

And he managed to create somewhat favourable\u00a0 good impression among pro government class.<\/p>\n

He did this under Premadasa too<\/p>\n

Here we have a radio and TV station owned by a sibling of the PM who cannot make any impact on listeners, and the government is unable to use the channel effectively to place the facts to score points for the incumbent ruling party.<\/p>\n

I reckon that every government should have a\u00a0 Dr \u00a0Joseph Goebbels\u201d and I used to call another Dr in the\u00a0 previous government a\u00a0 Dr Goebbels\u201d !<\/p>\n

(You may know that Goebbels was the fabricator of believable \u00a0lies for Hitler )<\/p>\n
