We have to have a flexible apparatchik to help investments<\/p>\n

Prime Minister is visiting Singapore soon to participate\u00a0 in World diaspora convention presumably to invite rich diaspora to come to Sri Lanka to invest .Even if they are enticed to come to their once motherland ,they have to be made aware about the bureaucracy of the state sector which \u00a0will be a stumbling block to their effort to invest .<\/p>\n

I have been repeatedly emphasizing the need to change our laws and attitudes towards new investors.<\/p>\n

Except the Shipyard which we are developing providing employment to over 100 workers ,can anyone tell me where did the private sector \u00a0started an industry to provide employment during the last 1 \u00bd years ?<\/p>\n

Of course except \u00a0high rises coming up\u00a0 in Colombo where many Indians working ,there are hardly any manufacturing Industry mooted<\/p>\n

Diaspora will be given the assurance that Sri Lanka will receive them with open arms ,but when they go to BOI and later to CEA,UDA ,Megapolis, ,Provincial Council .CCD where relevant ,SLPA if it is in places like Trinco ,they will surely run away again \u00a0from this country .<\/p>\n

Then of course the BBS may also be protesting with JOC and the CM\u2019s of NPC and EPC may ask for moon if and when they come .<\/p>\n

Any industry or investment should provide employment to youths with a view of\u00a0 stopping brain drain and body Drain and have we identified the potential areas for investment ?<\/p>\n

They go to India, Japan ,Korea ,Singapore and China without identifying the area s of investments other than real estate\u00a0 development .<\/p>\n

We have to stamp out the bureaucratic approval processes for an investor to start up and show them how quickly and investor can start earning an income.<\/p>\n

Government should roll the heads and put young dynamic top management who should report to PM at least for 1-2 years and show the world that we are quite quick in decision making .<\/p>\n

Then our investors will lead the way and bring the diaspora friends to come and invest jointly .<\/p>\n

State does not have to \u00a0put extra effort to entice them.<\/p>\n
