The All Ceylon Hindu Congress (ACHC)<\/strong> has issued a statement in defense of the Chief Minister of the Northern Province, Mr. C. V. Wigneswaran. The main objective of the statement is to deny that he is a racist. ACHC goes as far as saying that it is a sin\u201d to say so. Denying that the speech made by Mr. Wigneswaran on September 24 at the Rise Tamils\u201d meeting was based on racial hatred\u00a0 ACHC<\/strong> insists that those who criticise Mr. Wigneswaran should\u00a0 stop forthwith\u201d all criticism against him because he is not a racist.We would very much like\u00a0 to oblige ACHC<\/strong>, particularly to advance\u00a0 the cause of 1. Peace<\/strong> and\u00a0 2. Reconciliation<\/strong>. But since neither can be achieved on lies, distortions, and deception we have to regretfully reject their call forthwith.<\/p>\n

Let us begin by examining the claim that\u00a0 Wigneswaran is not a racist. Dressing him up as a holy sadhu ACHC<\/strong>, like all Tamil political parties, scapegoat the Sinhala-Buddhists for not\u00a0 giving into the latest raft of demands of the Tamil extremists\u00a0 led by Wigneswaran. Quite smugly, ACHC<\/strong> states that a few extreme communal minded politicians and religious leaders are taking forward communal hatred propaganda through the media.This must be halted forthwith.\u201d If the pro-Wigneswaran activists are so worried about the southern leaders taking forward communal hatred\u201d shouldn\u2019t they first set the example for others to follow? But\u00a0 they haven\u2019t. From the day after the\u00a0 elimination of the fascist dictatorship of Velupillai Prabhakaran they have moved in the international and national fora to demonise the Sinhala-Buddhists with concocted accusations and fictitious figures.Their exploitation of the UN<\/strong>, the West, India and other I\/NGOs is very well documented.<\/p>\n

But let\u2019s go to the highest Tamil institution led by Wigneswaran. He and his mob lost no time in\u00a0 invoking\u00a0 the name of Prabhakaran in the\u00a0 NPC election campaign to boost their electoral chances.Wigneswaran even \u00a0proclaimed that Prabhakaran was a hero like Keppitipola. Last but not the least, he moved\u00a0 a resolution in the NPC, labelling\u00a0 the entire southern leadership, since independence, as genocidal murderers.This\u00a0 came at a time when he was beginning\u00a0 to think like a native Jaffna Tamil man\u201d after he retired from the judiciary of the genocidal state\u201d. The NPC resolution contained unadulterated hate propaganda packed with lies and distortions to demonise the Sinhalese.Was this an act to promote peace\u00a0 and reconciliation, or was it a pack\u00a0of\u00a0lies cooked up by Wignesewaran to provoke racial\u00a0 hatred ?<\/p>\n

The notorious genocidal resolution\u201d of\u00a0 the NPC was a deliberate act to portray the Sinhala south as the permanent enemies of the Tamils. The inflated rhetoric, the anti-Sinhala thrust and the distortions woven into the NPC Resolution selectively were highly provocative aimed at igniting racial\u00a0 hatred. It was an aggressive declaration of hatred against the Sinhalese to divide and to keep the two communities\u00a0 apart. Besides, this was the anti-thesis of\u00a0 a key provision in the UNHRC<\/strong> Resolution which stipulated that everybody should act to prevent non-recurrence of violence\u201d. Common sense would dictate to Wigneswaran and\u00a0 his mob that rousing anti-Sinhala\u00a0 hatred can never lead to peace and reconciliation. The NPC resolution was aimed at exacerbating racial tensions and not healing\u00a0 it. There was no need to pass such a provocative resolution at a time when the nation is struggling\u00a0 to break away from the past and advance towards reconciliation and peace.<\/p>\n

What is more, there would have been some justification for the NPC resolution if the contents in it contained\u00a0 testable truths that could nail the Sinhala leaders. But, his own life experiences, living\u00a0 and working within the Sinhala-Buddhist framework, denies the lies\u00a0 he included in the NPC Resolution. If what he says about the post-independent states is true then isn\u2019t he\u00a0 guilty of\u00a0 being an integral part\u00a0 of\u00a0 genocidal regimes\u201d because, as a Supreme Court judge, he was one of three main pillars of the state — the legislature, the executive and\u00a0 the judiciary. Each time he sat on the bench, wearing\u00a0 the wig, representing the authority of the state, he would\u00a0 have known that he was serving the genocidal state\u201d and no one else. It means that when he was a judge in the Supreme Court he was collaborating with the genocidal state\u201d and delivering genocidal\u201d justice and not the untainted justice of a rational state enforcing just laws. He would know that judges can\u00a0 base their judgments only on the\u00a0 laws of\u00a0 state. So, if as he\u00a0 states, the post-independent states were genocidal\u201d then he could\u00a0 not have delivered anything else but genocidal\u201d laws that targeted the Tamils.<\/p>\n

This raises the question as to why he\u00a0 didn\u2019t quit the genocidal\u201d judiciary which could have dispensed only genocidal laws\u201d against the Tamils. For the better part of his\u00a0 life he served with glee the genocidal state\u201d. And\u00a0 he becomes saintly and moral only in the\u00a0 last stages, after he left the genocidal\u201d judiciary, just to get a handful of votes. With this self-serving and opportunistic conduct can he be trusted or regarded as a moral\u00a0 man? He\u00a0 derived the\u00a0 best \u2013 power, perks, and privileges \u2013 as a key functionary of the genocidal state\u201d. He now draws even a pension from the state which he condemns as genocidal\u201d. According to his\u00a0 logic, he\u00a0 derived all these benefits by delivering genocidal justice\u201d against the Tamils. So why is\u00a0 her crying foul now? When he was enjoying the power, perks and privileges given by the genocidal state\u201d he never once\u00a0 objected to the genocidal laws\u201d and acts. He never once refused to serve the genocidal state\u201d. In fact, his record shows\u00a0 that he was one of the most obedient servants of the genocidal states\u201d that were killing Tamils, according to his NPC resolution. He can\u2019t even claim the excuse of the Nazi criminals, including Eichmann, who declared at the Nuremberg Trials and in Tel Aviv that they were carrying\u00a0 out\u00a0 orders of the fascist Nazi\u00a0 regime. On the contrary, he joined\u00a0 the judiciary of\u00a0 the genocidal\u00a0 state\u201d voluntarily and climbed to the peak of the genocidal\u201d judiciary voluntarily\u00a0 and merrily, and retired from the genocidal state\u201d quite\u00a0 proud\u00a0 of serving the genocidal state\u201d. This poses a serious\u00a0 question to ACHC<\/strong> : Who\u00a0 is telling lies? How many poojas will the ACHC<\/strong> organise\u00a0 to pay for the sins of\u00a0 his lies ?<\/p>\n

His own life experiences prove that his\u00a0 hypocrisy is as demeaning as his lies. The judge\u00a0 who enjoyed being a part of\u00a0 the genocidal states\u201d and its laws throughout\u00a0 his\u00a0 adult life has now done a political karnam (somersault) to make him look like a hero\u00a0 in the eyes of the gullible Tamils. He knows that his political stunts can impress\u00a0 the\u00a0 Tamil extremists who are looking for\u00a0 the return of another Prabhakaran. The duty of Wigneswaran is to give up his posturing as the next saviour\u00a0 of the Tamils because he, like the other Tamil leaders who ended in Nandikadal, have consistently misled the Tamils. He should\u00a0 tell the Tamil people\u00a0 the truth. He should tell them that both G. G. Ponnambalam and S. J. V. Chelvanayakam and their\u00a0 elected representatives participated in the governments of\u00a0 D. S.Senanayake and Dudley Senanayake.Would Ponnambalam and Chelvanayakam join\u00a0 a genocidal state\u201d targeting the Tamils? So who is lying, eh ACHC <\/strong>?<\/p>\n

Like the Vadukoddai Resolution (1976), the NPC (2015) resolution is a tissue of lies fabricated to\u00a0 keep the two communities\u00a0 apart. The lesson taught at Nandikadal is that the lies of\u00a0 the Tamil\u00a0 leaders and their hate politics are doomed to fail. It\u00a0 is also clear\u00a0 that Mr. Wigneswaran is posturing\u00a0 as if\u00a0 he is\u00a0 the\u00a0 next Prabhakaran ready to take\u00a0 on the\u00a0 genocidal state\u201d. But he is already beginning to feel the heat. He\u00a0 is now crying out\u00a0 loud saying\u00a0 that there are attempts on\u00a0 his life. He\u00a0has unleashed\u00a0 the violent Jaffna forces who have begun to threaten the dissenting Tamil leaders in the TNA.\u00a0 At a book launch held in Jaffna pro-Wigneswaran mob\u00a0 had heckled\u00a0 and threatened TNA MPs. The\u00a0 signs are ominous.<\/p>\n

Wigneswaram should know that he can\u2019t escape the heat of the flames if he lights a fire. If something tragic happens\u00a0 to him (absit omen!) then\u00a0 he should\u00a0 take full responsibility because he is going all out to re-ignite the fires that were put out Nandikadal. The Tamil leaders will hide among the Sinhalese, as they did in the past\u00a0 leaving the\u00a0 Tamils of\u00a0 the north to fend\u00a0 for\u00a0 themselves. It is the misled Tamils of\u00a0 the north who will have to sacrifice all what they have, including\u00a0 their school-going children, to escape the\u00a0 fascist fury of their Tamil liberators\u201d.<\/p>\n

In the interests of the war-weary people we wish to plead with ACHC<\/strong>, Tamil People\u2019s Council and the NPC to think twice before they decide to go down the\u00a0 fatal path to Nandikadal once again.<\/p>\n
