The citizens of Sri Lanka welcome the statements by President-elect Donald Trump on the need to wipe out terrorists and not those fighting the terrorists. The assurance that President Trump would ban foreign lobbyists raising money for American elections is noteworthy as well as the decision to remove criminal illegal immigrants posing as bogus asylum seekers and the intense vetting of immigrants to the US to ensure no potential terrorists enter. We would like to bring to the attention of the Trump administration that the LTTE \u2013 Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam came into being far before the current jihadist terror groups, LTTE had its own navy, police, airforce and ran a defacto area by virtue of the illegal arms and support given by parties that supported terrorism from overseas. LTTE mastered and introduced the art of suicide terrorism. LTTE has even taken a contract killing on foreign soil \u2013 assassinating the former Indian Prime Minister using a female suicide bomber who came to garland late Rajiv Gandhi. The FBI <\/span>said in 2008 that LTTE was among the most dangerous and deadly extremists in the world,\u201d <\/span>FBI declared LTTE far more dangerous than the Al Qaeda. The Sri Lankan Government defeated the ground force of the LTTE in May 2009 but the LTTE fronts who had been providing material support and raised funding through charities that they were operating remain active in the US, Canada, UK, EU, Australia, South Africa, parts of Asia. Some of these groups have been banned incorporating UNSC Resolution 1373 and none of them have yet been investigated thoroughly by foreign governments. <\/span>Given President Trumps clarity on terrorists, we would like to know the stand that the new administration will take regarding these LTTE fronts who are operating from overseas given that large numbers of LTTE combatants fled before and during the conflict to foreign countries assisted by NGOs<\/span><\/b> and these entities could well pose a danger within these countries as well. All terrorists are not Islamic terrorists \u2013 US should seriously investigate the LTTE fronts too. Hillary Clinton called the LTTE \u2018freedom fighters\u2019. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Our appeal to President Donald Trump<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Review US stand on Sri Lanka<\/span><\/span><\/b>.<\/span><\/span><\/b> As examples will show, while the FBI has been arresting LTTE operatives in the US and has been working closely with international law enforcement operatives, the foreign domiciled LTTE terrorist lobby has been using \u2018Tamil\u2019 votes and money to influence foreign MPs and bureaucrats into taking a pro-LTTE stand against the Sri Lankan Government. This has not only affected diplomatic relations but has unnecessarily caused tensions<\/span>. \u2018Tamils of Hillary Clinton\u2019 lobby<\/span><\/b> and the many US congressman who had been tapped as well as the attempts to even bribe US officials to remove LTTE as a foreign terrorist organization goes to show the lengths these lobbies will go to while living in the US. It is time some action was taken against them given that <\/span>President Trumps election pledge was to ban foreign parties lobbying US politicians. Such actions by LTTE diaspora groups are a threat to democracy in the US.<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Review media, human rights reports, UN reports & UNHRC resolutions against Sri Lanka<\/span><\/span><\/b>.<\/span><\/span><\/b> From the manner the mainstream media has been exposed for their bias and lies during the US Presidential election, as well as the Soros-funded anti-Trump protests taking place throughout the US, will reveal the double standards and hypocrisies that prevail. Sri Lanka has been a victim of such media bias with reports, documentaries funded by the same sources that are protesting against Mr.Trump. The LTTE lobbies are even dictating how UNHRC resolutions are to<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>be drafted and they are the one\u2019s supplying the \u2018witnesses\u2019 whom the UNHRC are using to implicate soldiers who defeated the terrorists as war criminals. LTTE cadres had been arrested with UNHCR passes and the former UNHRC head immediately after leaving office was a chief guest at an event organized by the LTTE fronts in Canada. These are all conflicts of interests. These influences are such that demands are being made to change Sri Lanka\u2019s constitution, penal codes, state administration, national flag, national anthem, the country\u2019s history \u2013 all of which are unfair demands made through LTTE separatist lobbies trying to carve a separate area out of an island nation that is only <\/span>65,610\u00a0km\u00b2<\/span> as compared to US <\/span>9.834\u00a0million\u00a0km\u00b2<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>We welcome President Trumps decision to severely <\/span>vet all immigrants as the LTTE runs a human smuggling\/boat people smuggling network<\/span><\/span><\/b> and are accused of accepting money to send \u2018economic migrants\u2019 as asylum seekers. This is a racket taking place in Canada, UK, EU and Australia and should be investigated. Lot of money is involved and there are centres in the UK which charges to be physically abused so a medical officer can confirm the wounds were recent and claim they were committed by the Sri Lanka Army. These allegations should be investigated and action taken.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

UNHRC head is on record to say that Mr. Trump was \u2018dangerous\u2019 to the world <\/span><\/span>http:\/\/www.lankaweb.com\/news\/items\/2016\/11\/15\/unsg-unhrc-head-must-apologize-to-president-donald-trump\/<\/span><\/span><\/a> these are the personalities who have been meeting with LTTE lobbies and allowing terrorist fronts to influence global systems. LTTE support for Mrs. Clinton led to the US resolutions against Sri Lanka in the UNHRC. LTTE terrorist fronts who are banned cannot be allowed to influence war crimes tribunals against a national army that was only defending the country and its citizens. <\/span>All the allegations of war crimes against the Sri Lankan Army are coming from LTTE fronts, LTTE supporters (local and international), foreign MPs linked to LTTE, UN officials linked to LTTE, media, human rights organizations linked to LTTE.<\/span><\/b> Mr. Trump would never allow US army to be held for war crimes by Al Qaeda or ISIS terrorists or their supporters! The peace loving people of Sri Lanka appeals to the new US administration to <\/span>review these resolutions on the merit of evidence and the legal arguments by international terrorist experts and not parties linked to LTTE lobbies<\/span><\/b>. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We appreciate this stand. Similarly, we would like to inform that <\/span>LTTE is far more ruthless than the jihadist terrorists the West is fearful of.<\/span><\/b> No jihadist group had its own naval, airforce and groundforce like the LTTE did. No jihadist group had its own police, its own courts, its own currency, its own schools, its own administrative service. No jihadist group has carried out over 300 suicide attacks like the LTTE. No jihadist group has killed 2 world leaders, one a foreigner and on foreign soil. This shows that <\/span>LTTE is not to be underestimated given large numbers of LTTE cadres are now overseas as asylum seekers and they can be contracted to do any damage overseas.<\/span><\/b> US must seek assistance of Canada, UK, EU, Australia and South Africa and other Asian nations to intensively tabulate all refugees\/asylum seekers that have arrived in their countries and their connections to the LTTE for the safety of foreign citizens as well as the world at large. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This compilation is just a small portion of what LTTE and its supporters both in Sri Lanka and overseas have been doing for 30 years. Terrorism has become a business where those overseas are living in luxury raising funds and ammunition for a group to create mayhem elsewhere while they use the conflict to generate illegal and legal incomes as well as influence and exert power at political levels. This criminal syndicate must be stopped. We welcome President Trump\u2019s new foreign policy approach \u2013 departing from an interventionist policy to one of working for mutual goodwill. We hope that action will be initiated against all parties that are out to upset those objectives. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Tamil armed militant groups were created in India during the 1970s to destabalize Sri Lanka as well as pass over self-determination bid launched in India\u2019s state of Tamil Nadu to Sri Lanka where Tamil immigrants from India now settled in Sri Lanka are also demanding a separate state but with no historical proof to showcase that they evolved in Sri Lanka to claim any homeland rights.<\/p>\n

After the GOSL and national army eliminated the LTTE ground troops the UN and human rights groups are coming out with human rights abuse questions when they ignored all of the crimes committed by the LTTE terrorists.<\/p>\n

Thousands of unarmed civilians were targeted through suicide bombs, bombs placed in public places, inside banks, buses, trains, along roads and thousands have died and scores of people remain with lifelong injuries. The UN did not intervene to stop LTTE arms supply,<\/strong> LTTE overseas fund raising to purchase arms and equipment or put a stop to LTTE fronts who were lobbying among foreign politicians. LTTE diaspora was influencing both foreign politicians, bureaucrats and even UN officials using the money they were making through an international criminal network that comprised extortion, human smuggling, boat people smuggling, prostitution, narcotics, credit card scams in foreign countries, abusing and misusing the tax free charity status by registering themselves as charities. <\/strong><\/p>\n

LTTE leader and his key combatant leaders perished though the Sri Lankan military brought to safety close to 300,000 Tamils who had been forcibly taken by the LTTE as hostages and human shields. The rescue operation took place simultaneously alongside the military operation.<\/p>\n

Then US Secretary of State Clinton whose close connections to LTTE Tamil Diaspora lobby resulted in a leaked email (4 May 2009) that discloses her trying to influence the IMF and World Bank to bring sanctions against a democratic government<\/strong> if they did not stop the onslaught against the LTTE. This in turn made numerous other US officials to bully Sri Lanka unfairly all with the intent of saving the LTTE from being militarily defeated.<\/p>\n

There have been countless accusations against the Sri Lankan Army \u2013 from killing 40,000 people though not even 100names have been submitted of the dead in over 7 years! The onus is on those making allegations to produce the facts \u2013 instead they wish to hold tribunals based on evidence-less allegations by invisible witnesses and are proposing to change laws to give these anonymous people \u2018protection\u2019 but send soldiers who were defending the nation to prison. President Trumps statement that he would not allow foreign lobbyists to raise money for American elections is welcome.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rajaratnam is serving a prison term for insider-trading after being found guilty in 2011. These documents need to be further investigated given that US citizens had\u00a0 been making donations unknowingly<\/u> towards a terrorist movement and Rajaratnam\u2019s charity had abused the kindness of US citizens. The LTTE lobby access to US lawmakers should be of concern to the Trump administrators. The access paved the way for LTTE lobby to wriggle through red tape and exposes that even the most powerful country in the world can be fooled and penetrated. This is an aspect that the new US administration needs to take stock of<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The TRO which the US banned had been making regular contributions to US campaigns. Those US legislators who had been recipient of these funds were vocal supporters of LTTE separatism making the world believe that to be part of US policy.<\/p>\n

The article discloses more US officials accepting funds from LTTE sources and the manner they showed allegiance with the LTTE separatist cause as a result.<\/p>\n

After 2009 with no allocation towards arms, ammunition or the upkeep of LTTE cadres and with the LTTE illicit and legal global networks in tact it is anyone\u2019s guess as to how much its annual income is now and it should also make people realize that this money is now being utilized to \u2018buy over\u2019 and virtually influence foreign lawmakers and even officials in the UN.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2007<\/strong> \u2013 3 weeks after the Hillary interview on 15 November 2007 US Treasury used Executive Order 13224 to ban the Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO)<\/strong> as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT).<\/p>\n

TRO passed off its operations as CHARITABLE, when in fact it was raising money for a designated terrorist group responsible for heinous acts of terrorism\u2019 <\/em><\/strong>were words of Adam J Szubin, Director of the Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).<\/strong><\/p>\n

ABC News in an article says Rajaratnam had given $3.5million to the TRO to give to the LTTE terrorists. <\/strong>Rajaratnam\u2019s home was raided by the FBI in 2006 for his ties with TRO. http:\/\/mobile.businessinsider.com\/raj-rajaratnam-funded-sri-lankan-terror-group-2009-10<\/a><\/p>\n

Rajaratnam a Democratic Party supporter had donated $118,000 to the campaigns of Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer and Barack Obama<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rajaratnam was also sued by the victims and families killed by LTTE.<\/p>\n

2006<\/strong> \u2013 for the 1st<\/sup> time, on August 21, 2006, the District Court of Brooklyn, New York, charged eight LTTE agents with multiple crimes, including conspiracy to provide material support to the LTTE. In 2014 the GOSL through gazette notification by President Mahinda Rajapakse incorporated UN Security Council Resolution 1373 and banned 16 LTTE fronts for materially supporting terrorism. Additionally over 400 individuals were also named. <\/strong><\/p>\n

However ignoring these in 2015 with the change of government the pro-Clinton influence resulted in the new government removing 8 of these organizations giving a feeble excuse that it was to assist reconciliation. Foreign Governments where these 16 organizations are operating from and where all the individuals are living (some holding foreign passports) had not been investigated inspite of the ban. The legal arguments used to ban all 16 of these organizations remain valid still and President Trump\u2019s administration must investigate them in particular the groups operating from the US.<\/p>\n
