Ven. Professor Bellanwila Wimalarathana Thero says that Sri Lanka will go down in the history books as a country with no national policies.<\/p>\n

Sri Lanka has many world records. I think that this country not having any national policies on the likes of education, culture and media is also a world record,\u201d the Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayawardenepura said.<\/p>\n

He was speaking during an event to launch the public commission formulating a national policy on international trade and agreements on Wednesday (22).<\/p>\n

He said that in other countries no matter which government is elected or no matter which party is in power, the country\u2019s national policies remains unchanged.<\/p>\n

He said that even neighboring India, which is sometimes called Sri Lanka\u2019s big brother,\u201d has a national policy and that although the governments of that country changed, its national policies did not change.<\/p>\n
