All families of TNA MPs live in Colombo! Their demand for Tamil Eelam is a sham to distract people and terrorise them into extorting more economic benefits and privileges in Colombo and surrounds so that a Colombo-centric Tamil Eelam will become more feasible.<\/p>\n

Quest for Tamil Eelam was genuine until open war began in 1983. The war and violence convinced Tamils that Tamil Eelam is not going to do them any good. The north and east have no modern industries, arid, infertile (relative to the wet zone) and plagued with caste disputes, regular Indian interference and increasingly severe water shortages. Tamil racists are now after Colombo to be the capital of their Tamil-only Eelam. With Tamil speaking people\u2019s percentage creeping higher and higher along the north-western and western coasts linking these areas to what they call \u2018Tamil Homelands\u2019 in the north and east, the shape of things to come becomes clearer.<\/p>\n

TNA\u2019s demands must be understood in this light and defeated in areas outside the north and east. TNA is now after areas outside the north and east merely using the north and east as a terrorizing tool. Even the Indian model does not allow Tamil language in states outside Tamil Nadu. This has saved Uttar Pradesh for instance from becoming a mini-Tamil Nadu. A similar provision must be introduced in Sri Lanka. Tamil (Nadu) language can be the only language in the north and share equal status with Sinhala in the east, but it must not be recognized in other provinces as an official or national language. Tamils can still use it in their community as they do in Canada, Malaysia or anywhere else.<\/p>\n

Tamil Tiger Terrorists carried out 55 terror attacks on Sinhala civilians in Colombo. Their aim was to terrorize and evict Sinhalas out of the City and they succeeded. Now Colombo City (the most prosperous, industrial, comfortable, advanced in healthcare and education facilities and the economic and transport capital) has twice the number of Tamils than Sinhalese, reversing the demographic balance before the war. There are Tamil-only streets, ghettoes and localities in Colombo-city much like Chennai or Jaffna. The next round of Tamil-only federal units or even autonomous regions will spin up within the Colombo City.<\/p>\n

TNA demand for a new constitution and Tamil Eelam are red herrings; distractions. While all their families are living in Colombo and Tamils waiting to colonize Colombo in their millions, TNA knows only too well Tamil Eelam is not feasible. Sri Lanka must not fear their terror tactics and give into anymore appeasements.<\/p>\n

Some groups opposing a new openly federal constitution will hail the planned compromise which is a tweak of 13A to allow Tamil separatists a future foothold in Colombo, etc. while allowing them devolution in the north and east.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
