He was not on the National List of the UNP either. Therefore, he was not qualified to enter Parliament as a National List Member of Parliament. He was defeated at the August 2015 general election, which he contested from the People\u2019s Democratic Party led by him. The right to franchise of the people has been violated by his appointment to Parliament.
