“Wijedasa Rajapaksa: Unfit for the job of Justice and Buddha Sasana Minister<\/em><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0published by Muslim Civil Society activist, CEO, YATv, Vice President \u2013 Muslim Council of Sri Lanka and a prominent UNPer became the talking point last year of the Sri Lanka Muslim Community elite and the English reading segment of the Colombo English educated Muslim voters. Hilmy Ahamed played a very prominent role, behind the scene in the political playing field to cut down former Prisident Mahinda Rajapaksa, Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Basil Rajapaksa and Namal Rajapaksa among the Muslim voters of Sri Lanka, especially in the Colombo Central, Aluthgama and Beruwela. Hilmy Ahamed was the main contact person for Minister Faizer Musthapa to turn coats against President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the very last moment, around the last week\/1st<\/sup>\u00a0week of January 2015.<\/p>\n

Things have changed since the Presidential Elections \u2013 January 8th<\/sup>.,2015 and the General Elections \u2013 September 14th<\/sup>., 2015. The duped and hoodwinked Muslim voters who were made to vote\u201d the Hansaya\u201d have begun to understand the treachery of these Muslim Civil Society Leaders, Community Leaders, and Ulema Sabai Leaders by the action of the Yahapalana Government\u201d now. The latest denouncing of the Yahapalana Government\u201d comes from the former MUSLIM\u00a0Chairman of the Panadura PS, Ifaz Naushan,<\/strong>\u00a0a staunch supporter of the Sri Lanka Podu Peramuna presently. The government has to accept the fact that it is the government behind Gnanarasa Thero.<\/p>\n

But UNP Colombo Central MP,\u00a0Mujeebu Rahuman\u00a0<\/strong>vehemently threw challenges at the Yahapalana Government and also blamed the UNP leadership for the present plight of the Muslim community. MP Mujeebu Rahuma stated that many times during the Sirasa MINNAL POLITICAL PROGRAMME\u201d \u00a0(https:\/\/youtu.be\/XMx98osl-lQ?t=755<\/a>) (http:\/\/shakthitv.lk\/minnal-11-06-17\/<\/a>) moderated by Sri Ranga, that the 21 Muslim parliamentarians will decide soon to step-down from the Yahapalana government\u201d and sit in the parliament as a separate group if immediate action is not taken against BBS Ganasara Thero.\u00a0MP Mujeebu Rahuman\u00a0<\/strong>stated that he is stating this with authority as it has been decided by all Muslim MP\u2019s at a meeting held recently and it was THE CALL OF THE MUSLIM COMMUNITY\u201d, In Sha Allah.\u00a0Have the Muslim MP\u2019s and Muslim Ministers begun to lose their pride and accept reality, Insha Allah?<\/strong>\u00a0This is what The Muslim Voice\u201d has been praying for in the wilderness of the Muslim political playing field since the inception of the Muslims being betrayed by the Yahapalana Government\u201d with regards to the BBS atrocities and the slanders made by Gnanasara Thero against Islam and the Holy Prophet Mohamed (SAL).<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Muslim Youth and the young professionals of the community have begun to use SOCIAL MEDIA\u201d to challenge these scoundrels. They have begun to oppose the contemplated move by the Muslim Yahapalana Government\u201d MP\u2019s to continue in the government of Maithripala Sirisena and Ranil Wickremasinghe that has refused to meet with the 21 Muslim MP\u2019s who have made a request in writing to President Sirisena to give them a time to thrash out the issues of the Muslims, viz-a-viz the BBS atrocities and the step motherly treatment given to the development activities in Muslim areas and the issues of resettlement of Muslims displaced during the war in the North and Eastern provinces and to amend the Muslim laws that are in the statute books in Sri Lanka since independence which is a political move by the Yahapalana Government\u201d to please the European Union\u00a0in order to expedite the granting of the GSP facilities that are been withheld since 2010. It is also alleged that this is one of the conditions the EU has laid down, if the EU is to restore the GSP + Plus concessions to Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n

The Yahapalana Government\u201d has no consideration to the Muslim Community issues or the MUSLIM FACTOR\u201d at all. The Yahapalana Government\u201d is NOT going listen to the Muslim Civil Society Leaders, Community Leaders and Ulema Sabai Leaders, though they have been making BIG NOISES\u201d about the MUSLIM FACTOR\u201d over the last two years, since bringing President Maithripala Sirisena and the Yahapalana government (PM. Ranil Wickremasinghe) to power with our tipping the balance\u201d \u2013 nearly 800,000 votes plus the Tamil votes. The majority President Maithripa Sirisena got was 649,072 votes. Since our vote-bank had been traded by our politicians, the SLMC is dead. The ACMC is busy making money and covering the corruption charges made against them and the Muslim politicians stooging the UNP are ONLY interested in their personal benefits.<\/p>\n

The ungrateful Muslim politicians who benefited the most from Mahinda Rajapaksa, Basil Rajapaksa and Gotabaya Rajapaksa are now stooging the Yahapalana government. As a result of all these deceptions, Muslims in Sri Lanka do NOT have a voice \u2013 a POLITICAL VOICE for that purpose. The Yahapalana government (President Maithripala Sirisena and PM Ranil Wickremaratne) have forgotten that it was the minority Muslim votes and the Tamil votes and a very small fraction of the Sinhala votes that tipped the balance for the Hansaya\u201d to win the Presidential Elections and the General elections in 2015. The en-block Muslim votes and Tamil votes to the Muslim candidates and the Tamil candidates made the Yahapalana government to get their majority in parliament in the 2015 general elections and enjoy a 2\/3 majority.\u00a0In the next elections, surely the Muslims are contemplating to vote the Joint Opposition\u201d to power.
