It would be a timely decision to acquire excess supplies and money of the temples which have a high income and allocate it for the benefit of temples in rural areas, a senior monk said Sunday.<\/p>\n

Venerable Wanawasi Rahula Thero, founder of the Jathika Namal Uyana, made this remark while speaking at a press conference held in Anuradhapura.<\/p>\n

Rahula Thero pointed out according to reports, the money some temples receive as a donation per a day exceeds Rs.3.5 million.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, the monks of some temples don\u2019t even have robes to wear,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The Thero also went on to say he stands with the government in this effort, if the authorities would implement a proper method to manage the process.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
