Stealing ,sexual misbehaving \u00a0,from lying and consuming liquor .Then furthermore there is ,and has been a trend to practice meditation in order to reach initial step of Sotapana and achieving further steps to reach Nibbana .<\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Stream-enterer\"><strong>Stream-enterer<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sotapanna\">Sotapanna<\/a>) is free from:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identity view<\/li>\n<li>Attachment to rites and rituals<\/li>\n<li>Doubt about the teachings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Once-returner\"><strong>Once-returner<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sakadagami\">Sakadagami<\/a>) has greatly attenuated:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sensual desire<\/li>\n<li>Ill will<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Non-returner\"><strong>Non-returner<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/An%C4%81g%C4%81mi\">An\u0101g\u0101mi<\/a>) is free from:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sensual desire<\/li>\n<li>Ill will<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Arahant\"><strong>Arahant<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is free from all of the five lower fetters and the five higher fetters, which are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Craving for prosperity in the material world<\/li>\n<li>Craving for existence in the ideal world (heaven)<\/li>\n<li>Conceit<\/li>\n<li>Restlessness<\/li>\n<li>Ignorance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In nowhere it says that a person cannot reprimand ( with ill will and hatred ) a subordinate for not following rules .I personally know of Chief prelates in temples punch\/punish \u00a0young monks for misbehaving \u00a0and some time they even use a cane .<\/p>\n<p>In the event of this lift operator who has not obeyed the ruling of the Pujitha\u201d IGP\u00a0 who \u00a0has the right to punish .Even after meditation you can be of high temper ( until you reach state of Anangami ).<\/p>\n<p>A person who may have purposely disobeyed\u00a0 the chief police  prelate\u00a0 has to face the\u00a0 punishment .<\/p>\n<p>When I was listening a sermon of a young Bangladeshi monk ,he reiterated that even after reaching first step of enlightenment even Visakha was running a home and going on with day to day family life .<\/p>\n<p>As per the story of Visakha ,she was accused of insulting her father in law who ignored a\u00a0 a monk who came to the house for Pindapatha  ( with begging bawl)\u00a0 and kept eating porridge.<\/p>\n<p>She has told the monk  please ignore him ,he is eating stale food <\/p>\n<p>She was lying but it was in good faith\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Pujitha in a different context was misbehaving but in good faith\u201d <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>http:\/\/www.buddhanet.net\/e-learning\/buddhism\/lifebuddha\/2_4lbud.htm<\/p>\n<p>People go for 10 day meditation of the Indian Guru Goenka and come out feeling enlightened after vigorous Anapanasathi a Vippassana meditation ,and after going home he\/she is supposed to practice at least 2 hours\u00a0 per day\u00a0 .Goenka advocates that you should at least try to adhere to \u00a0Seela ( following five precepts at least, for\u00a0 the day .He teaches you to be calmer and tolerant \u00a0but it takes time .<\/p>\n<p>In the case of IGP he has the full right to bash the person who did not heed to instruction of doing a morning meditation ( he may have tried to emulate Prison Chief Mrs Kiran Bedi of India) .If a police shall \u00a0maintain discipline and be firm .<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0 Actually Kiran Bedi was riding a motor bike incognito to ensure that prevailing rules are followed ( only violation is that both riders were not wearing helmets!) <\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-69106\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lankaweb.com\/news\/items\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/sarath210817.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lankaweb.com\/news\/items\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/sarath210817.jpg 750w, https:\/\/www.lankaweb.com\/news\/items\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/sarath210817-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the case of IGP.
