{"id":81732,"date":"2018-10-06T13:32:14","date_gmt":"2018-10-06T20:32:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lankaweb.com\/news\/items\/?p=81732"},"modified":"2018-10-06T13:32:14","modified_gmt":"2018-10-06T20:32:14","slug":"sri-lankan-airlines-named-worlds-most-punctual-airline-in-sept","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lankaweb.com\/news\/items\/2018\/10\/06\/sri-lankan-airlines-named-worlds-most-punctual-airline-in-sept\/","title":{"rendered":"Sri Lankan Airlines named World\u2019s Most Punctual Airline in Sept."},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Courtesy NewsIn.Asia<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Colombo, Oct 5 (newsin.asia) \u2013 Sri Lanka\u2019s national air carrier, Sri Lankan Airlines, was named the \u2018World\u2019s Most Punctual Airline\u2019 in September by global flight data analysis company \u2018Flightstats\u2019, a statement from the airline said here Friday.<\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>Sri Lankan airlines was selected under the key categories of \u2018Global Airlines\u2019 and \u2018Major Airlines\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>According to data analysed by Flightstats, \u00a091.37 percent of Sri Lankan Airlines flights in September were on time.<\/p>\n<p>In the \u2018Global Airlines\u2019 category, Sri Lankan\u2019s punctuality was ahead of the U.S. based carrier, Delta Airlines, that ranked in second place with 86.74 percent flights on time, while third place went to Japanese airline ANA with 86.61 percent flights on time.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Sri Lankan Airlines named World\u2019s Most Punctual Airline in Sept.\" src=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/newsin.asia\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Sri-Lankan-airlines-1.jpg?fit=701%2C405&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"Sri Lankan Airlines named World\u2019s Most Punctual Airline in Sept.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the \u2018Major Airlines\u2019 category, Sri Lankan was ahead of India\u2019s IndiGo that was in second place with 86.92 percent of flights being on time.<\/p>\n<p>Sri Lankan Airlines said that Flightstats had analysed data of 41 carriers from Europe, North America, Asia, the Middle East, and South America, including most of the world\u2019s largest and most prestigious airlines.<\/p>\n<p>Sri Lankan\u2019s consistently high level of on-time performance is the result of a structured process that monitors and co-ordinates the performance of all departments and individual staff members responsible for various aspects of its operations,\u201d the airline said.<\/p>\n<p>The degree of attention given for punctuality monitoring is infallibly high with zero tolerance for slips in the process,\u201d the airline added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Courtesy NewsIn.Asia Colombo, Oct 5 (newsin.asia) \u2013 Sri Lanka\u2019s national air carrier, Sri Lankan Airlines, was named the \u2018World\u2019s Most Punctual Airline\u2019 in September by global flight data analysis company \u2018Flightstats\u2019, a statement from the airline said here Friday.
