When\nSri Lanka had a lean time in tourist arrivals during war time, locals were\ntreated with arms extended by the staff of all hotels in Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brownies\nare not well treated by the brownie managers as the hotel is collecting dollars\n.from foreigners .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now\nthat tourism is booming, many white and yellow colour tourists are swarming in\nColombo and other areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\nhappened to me today morning, when I went to a  four star hotel which has\na Holiday\u201d  name earlier to collect some Korean Experts who came to Sri\nLanka .to work in my yard .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Until\nthey come down to the lobby I decided to have a coffee and a brown toast after\nmy early morning walk, on the way to the shipyard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beverages\nmanager at the breakfast corner was told by me that I only need a coffee and\nbrown toast and I have no intention to have full buffet breakfast \u2018He asked me\nto serve  coffee from buffet and I  sat to enjoy it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\nasked for the toast and he said to me as I have touched the buffet, you have\nto pay for the whole buffet ( May be  by consuming all string hopper,\nbacon sausages and what not! )<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Otherwise\nthey have to  serve a coffee separately and picked the coffee cup which\nwas in my hand and walked away.,I THOUGHT WHAT A WASTE !<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\ncalled the hotel manager and explain to him that If it was a foreigner who had\nto undergo this treatment , he \/she would Have given earful blasting.to<\/a> the staff of the hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 .I\nalso told him that influx of foreign tourists is again causing a complex among\nour own brownies and  that they started treating us like dirt .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hotel\nManager offered me a free coffee in the presence of the training manager who\ncame to listen to my complain and apologized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\naccepted the apology and went to coffee shop in the lobby and bought one for a\nwapping 520 Rs to prove my point and walked away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the\nway out I saw the Waitress with a  full tray of coffee which was hopefully\ncomplementary ,but my ego and disgust  made me to tell her to consume it\nherself <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So\nBrownies need to be weary of   SO Sri Lankan change of attitude as we\nare dying for Dollars<\/p>\n\n\n\n
