Destroy the Enemy Utterly as It Pivots to Mother Lanka  (Part 2)&#8221; &#8212; LankaWeb.com\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lankaweb.com\/news\/items\/2019\/03\/12\/rise-up-sri-lanka-rise-up-destroy-the-enemy-utterly-as-it-pivots-to-mother-lanka-part-2\/embed\/#?secret=bVtTnAbD9f#?secret=d9s4scTVsL\" data-secret=\"d9s4scTVsL\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The articles allege that the MCC agreement is\nnothing but a plan to splinter Sri Lanka and turn it into a US Military Base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Key points alleged in these articles are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The agreement\nwas drafted after two years of secretive negotiations between Ranil\nWickremasinghe and the Millennium Challenge Corporation and It was to be signed\nin November 2018<\/li><li>Under cover of\n\u2018Megapolis\u2019 development, the Americans demanded from Sri Lanka an \u2018Economic\u2019\nCorridor of 1.2 Million Acres of land from Trincomalee to Colombo for a lease\nperiod of 200 years and they insisted that US law must prevail within this\ncorridor <\/li><li>The US has\noffered USD 400 million for the corridor which works out to Rs.24 per acre per\nmonth. <\/li><li>It appears that\nSri Lanka has been offered 80 million USD more<\/li><li>The area covered\nby the corridor contains Eppawela\u2019 phosphates, ilmenite, thorium, monazite, and\nrare-earth metals Cerium and Lanthanum<\/li><li>The US insisted that Sri Lanka should abrogate her\nland laws which had protected her Sovereignty and National Security and that\nRanil Wickramasinghe has agreed to oblige by drafting to&nbsp; two new Bills \u2013 the \u2018State Land Bank\u2019 Bill\nand the \u2018Land (Special Provision)\u2019 Bill <\/li><li>The construction\nof an \u2018Electrified\u2019 Railway Line from Trincomalee to Colombo protected with\nelectric fences on either side which will effectively physically split the\ncountry into two. <\/li><li>Anuradhapura and\nKurunegala will be in the north of the corridor<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The allegations above if true, show that Ranil\nWickremasinghe has signed an agreement that destroys the sovereignty and\nterritorial integrity of Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Given the grave nature of the allegations it is\nimperative that the government immediately reveal the contents of the agreement\nwithout any redactions to the general public.
