According to media\nreports, Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith flayed the government\nfor its lackadaisical attitude and not doing enough to bring those responsible\nfor the Easter Sunday bombings to justice. He has expressed his dissatisfaction\nwith the security measures that have been taken since the attack and doubt\nwhether anything meaningful will be done by the Committee appointed by the\nPresident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\nThe Cardinal has said: “I must appreciate the patience that the people\nhave shown after Easter Sunday\u2019s attacks. Even if parliamentarians and\npoliticians were behind these attacks \u2013 directly or indirectly \u2013 people expect\nthem to be arrested, questioned and punished if they have any connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As revealed by Minister Kabir Hashim, few weeks ago, the two key\nsuspects who were captured\nwith explosives in Wanathawilluwa,\nPuttalam in January this year\nhad been released due to\nthe intervention of a powerful politician and one of them had been involved in Sunday\u2019s attacks. It is claimed by various\nsources that one of the governors appointed by the President in January this\nyear, Azath Salley, was the one who intervened in this regard, although Salley denies\nhis evolvement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to some other news item, Eastern Province\nGovernor, M. L. A. M. Hizbullah\u2019s driver and former cook were arrested, few\ndays ago, following the detection of 48 rounds of ammunition in a building rented\nby the Governor at Kattankudy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further a blast reported\nto have been taken place, a week before the Easter Sunday massacre, in a vacant\nland at Kattankudy.  The land owner is\nsaid to be the said Governor.  Hizbullah was accused by\na number of persons for having links to the National Thowheed Jamath (NTJ) who\nare behind the Easter Sunday attacks.   Mr.\nHisbullah is another Governor appointed by the President. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, there are various allegations leveled against government\npoliticos like, Mujibur  Rahman, Rishad\nBathiudeen regarding their involvement with extremist terror outfits.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minister of Muslim Religious Minister Abdul Haleem was accused of\nstreamlining Madrassas and permitting the construction of hundreds of\nextremist\u2019s Tawheed mosques. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minister\nHaleem\u2019s childish response to journalists\u2019\nqueries as to why certain mosques had amassed weapons such as swords and other\nsharp objects appears as a clear evidence of his desire to appease terrorist\nattacks committed by Muslim extremists.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\nhave come across videos showing how Mujibur \nRahman denying the establishment of ISIS, when revealed its existence by\nWijedasa Rajapasa in the Parliament few years ago.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All the powerful\npoliticians and the ministers of the current administration are simply\nconducting media shows denying  the\naccusations level against them and nothing seems to be done to bring parliamentarians\nand politicians behind the Easter Sunday bombings, directly or indirectly, to\njustice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Considering the relationships that those\npoliticians have established with the power hungry politicians ruling the\ncountry, it is very doubtful whether any action will be done against the\nalleged extremist elements.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
