Our\nPresident Sirisena has donated the Samadhi Buddhist Statue to Prime Minister\nModi.  I have heard from my mother never to give a Buddha Statue  (\nBudu Pilima) as a gift to another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According\nto her giving Buddha Statue could bring Bad Omen to both the Giver and the\nReceiver.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My\nmother became very fond of Buddha statues after her trip to India and in 2006\nshe purchased a 40 inch statue here in South Africa. Over the next few months\nsome negative events took place at the house. The first event was the geyser\nhad burst, and then a few other small things around the house began to give\nproblems.

\nOur\nneighbor came over the one day and explained to us that it’s apparently bad\nluck to purchase a Buddha statue for yourself, it has to be given to you as a\ngift. Anyway, we disregarded that as a little myth but events got worse. The\nhouse was broken into and we were cleaned out of just about everything, and my\nfolk’s business began to hit rock bottom and had to close down. At this point\nwe still did not relate these events to the statue, but then two of our dogs\nsuddenly got ill and died of organ failure (which the vet could not find the\ncause of).

\nWe decided to humor the idea that the statue could be bringing bad luck, so we\ndecided to give it to my grandmother as a gift to put in her garden. After\ndoing so these bad events stopped almost immediately and nothing bad happened\nat my gran’s place after the statue was moved there.

\nOne very strange event took place the day we removed the statue, though. Just\nbefore we took it to the car, our Great Dane was staring at the statue in an\nalert manner, the hair on her back and neck were standing up and she was growling\nmenacingly at this statue. We have other statues in our garden and she’s never\ndone this with any of them.

\nTo this day, I have yet to conclude whether the events that took place were\ncoincidence or not, but after seeing how the dog reacted to the statue, and how\nthe events just stopped suddenly, could there be a bit of truth behind what my\nneighbor had told us?  “<\/p>\n\n\n\n
