Introduction<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am exhausted.\nIt\u2019s not just physical. It stems from my incapability to take in and digest all\nof what is written on paper and spoken about, almost everywhere. The incessant\nbarrage of peoples\u2019 howling and protesting, talking and reporting colourfully\n(pun intended) and ruefully on moronic deals, deeds and a plethora of other\nadventures by the \u2018Diyawanna Oya Outfit\u2019 has risen to a crescendo, which most\nlikely has never been heard before. The number of people asking, arguing,\ncriticising and writing in newspapers and other social media sites has reached\nheights never reached before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\nAnd I am sure that most of them like myself are truly exhausted too by trying\nto take on this onslaught of the thoughts of a people, who are angry and\nutterly tired of being taken for a ride. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The never-ending\nbedlam, cheating, corruption lies and many other vices, of the governors as\nwell as the governed that have now become the general order of the day of the\n\u2018Republic of Sri Lanka aka \u2018A land like no other\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I thought of\nwriting something different from the familiar and the typical and instead\nopting for a wee bit of atypical. Even though it addresses the same social and\npolitical drama of today, the approach is different, speckled with grains of\nhumour and seeds of sarcasm. At least, yours truly hopes so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am going to limit\nmy essay to a very few only, even though you could probably write a voluminous\ntreatise on the subject, of the antics of our politicians of past and\npresent-day packed to the brim at times, with highhandedness, stupidity,\nthievery and tomfoolery, all present in various proportions in their packages\ncontaining, supposedly sensible, sustainable and sound solutions, presented to\na malnourished nation and its maltreated people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nAgree to disagree – A familiar habit of many of them<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deceptively honest\n– In my opinion, there are quite a few, who could be under this category<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\nDisgustingly-delicious – What some of them say!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Honest thief – Can\nsome of them be called as such?<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\nLoyal opposition – Who on earth can this be? Well, we have seen them barking,\nsnapping and screaming in our \u2018Hall-of-Shame\u2019 around \u2018The Oya\u2019 in many an\noccasion<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\nShrewd dumbness – Guess, who could easily answer the description<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Silent scream – You\ncan hear the people\u2019s \u2018silent scream\u2019 as they write in the newspapers of today;\nAnd mostly about the despicable and deplorable behaviour of many of our\npoliticians, their antics and unfathomable logic, which they apply to solve\nserious problems facing the nation<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unbiased opinion –\nAren\u2019t they good at giving it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wise fool – I am\nsure we have few amongst them. What do you think? Even though, they choose to\nbe foolish more often than be wise!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are many\nmore. I chose the ones that are less common, yet suit the topic of my\nessay. It would be fun to think about who could fall into each of these,\ndespite the fact that there are some, who would instantly come to your mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
