MP Sumathipala underscored the pivotal importance of Mahinda Rajapaksa in the process leading to an understanding between the two factions. Referring to the sudden issuance of gazette notification regarding presidential poll on Nov 16, 2019, MP Sumathipala said that President Sirisena called a special cabinet meeting on Premier Wickremesinghe request.
