Unquestionably,\nwomen play an indispensable role in society because the future generations lie\nin their laps and grow up in their tender care\u201d \u2013 Ahmadiyya Supreme Head.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The World Head of the Ahmadiyya\nMuslim Community, the Fifth Khalifa (Caliph)<\/em>, His Holiness Hazrat\nMirza Masroor Ahmad delivered a moving and faith inspiring address to conclude\nthe 41st<\/sup> National\nIjtema (Annual Gathering) of Lajna Imaillah UK<\/em>, the ladies\nauxiliary organization of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Held\nat Country\nMarket<\/em> in Kingsley, Hampshire, this was the first time the\nevent took place over three days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In\nhis address, His Holiness reminded the members of  Ladies auxiliary\norganization Lajna\nImaillah<\/em> of the immense value of remaining firm in their faith\nand staying true to the teachings of Islam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hazrat\nMirza Masroor Ahmad said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As\nwe move towards success and prosperity, it is essential that we intensify our\nefforts to protect and preserve our true Islamic values and our core identity\nas Muslims. The only way to achieve this is for us to strive, more than ever\nbefore, to act upon the teachings of Islam.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

His\nHoliness addressed a question regarding the effectiveness of Islam\u2019s peaceful\nteachings in today\u2019s society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hazrat\nMira Masroor Ahmad said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some\npeople will argue that Islam has already spread globally and query what has\nbeen the benefit to the world? After all, there are said to be around 1.8\nbillion Muslims in the world and, amongst them, are thousands of Islamic\nscholars who claim to be spreading its teachings. Yet, this has not led to true\npeace and prosperity within the Muslim Ummah (Muslim people) or in the wider\nworld.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hazrat\nMirza Masroor Ahmad continued:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nsimple and clear reason for this is that, save for those blessed people who\nhave accepted the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him), Muslims across the\nworld are riven within division, dissent and interpret the teachings of Islam\nin ways that are devoid of sense and often impossible to practice.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

His\nHoliness also spoke about the importance of modern means of communication and\nthe facilities they provide as vessels to convey the true and peaceful message\nof Islam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In\nthis regard Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In\ntoday\u2019s world, television, radio, the internet, the print media and social\nmedia are just a few ways through which communications have advanced to the\npoint where global communication has become instantaneous. These are all\ntechnologies that we as a community are utilising to spread the teachings of\nIslam.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whilst\nmodern tools of communication and new technologies can be utilised for good,\nHis Holiness explained that regrettably, much\nof the content being broadcast or streamed in the world today serves only to\nweaken the moral and spiritual fabric of society and to take people away from\nwhat is good and decent.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

His\nHoliness instructed that Ahmadi Muslims must take the task of reversing the\nmoral decline in society upon themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hazrat\nMirza Masroor Ahmad said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\nis the task of Ahmadi men, women and our youth, as members of the community of\nthe Promised Messiah (peace be upon him), to use modern-day technologies to\ncounter the influence of irreligious and immoral forces and to show that\nupholding religious values in the contemporary world is not just possible but\nis absolutely vital.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

His\nHoliness went on to lay particular importance on the vastly integral role women\nplay in the structure of society and the heightened responsibility that it\nbrings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hazrat\nMirza Masroor Ahmad said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unquestionably,\nwomen play an indispensable role in society because the future generations lie\nin their laps and grow up in their tender care. This fact alone greatly\nincreases the responsibility placed upon Ahmadi Muslim women to ensure that\nthey view those programmes or read those books that strengthen their moral\nfibre and which help them to fulfil the purpose of being part of the community\nestablished by the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him).\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

His\nHoliness reminded the attendees to continually improve themselves and to not\nfall prey to time wasting or immoral pastimes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hazrat\nMirza Masroor Ahmad said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Save\nyourselves from those sunken paths that are vacant of spirituality and\nmorality, as they will not only harm you but will also destroy the coming\ngenerations.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Explaining\nthat staying away from time-wasting and immoral activities does not hinder\nAhmadi Muslims from integrating into society, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This\ndoes not mean that you cannot integrate or contribute to the society in which\nyou live. Many Ahmadis have grown up here or lived here for decades and are now\nfully attuned to the British customs and values and are themselves an integral\npart of this society. There is nothing wrong with this.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hazrat\nMirza Masroor Ahmad continued:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To\nthe contrary, every person, whether born here or whether they are an immigrant,\nshould strive to integrate and fulfil their duties as a member of society and\nbe a loyal citizen of the nation. Our faith requires Muslims to utilise their\nskills and capabilities for the benefit of the nation in which they live and to\nwork towards its progress and development.\u201d<\/strong><\/em> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

His\nHoliness explained that certain practices such as the consumption of alcohol\nand other immoral activities are termed as \u2018freedoms\u2019 but in reality they take\none away from God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hazrat\nMirza Masroor Ahmad said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\nare many other harmful things that are prevalent in this society which secular\npeople try to justify in the name of \u2018freedom of choice\u2019 or \u2018progress\u2019 but\nwhich have been declared as obscene by Allah the Almighty and His Messenger\n(peace and blessings of God be upon him) and which take mankind away from its\nCreator.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hazrat\nMirza Masroor Ahmad continued:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though\nsuch things are championed as examples of a free and modern society, the\nreality is that such impropriety serves only to shatter the foundations upon\nwhich a truly thriving and compassionate society is built.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

His\nHoliness further shone light on the issue of attaining a peaceful society at an\nindividual and wider level in light of chapter\n13, verse 29 <\/em>of the Holy Quran which states:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018<\/strong>Aye! It\nis in the remembrance of Allah that hearts can find comfort.\u2019<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hazrat\nMirza Masroor Ahmad said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Allah\nthe Almighty has stated that true peace of mind cannot be attained through\nworldly freedom or by partaking in the meaningless attractions of the world,\nrather it can only be achieved through the nearness of Allah the Almighty and\nkeeping Him in your heart and mind at all times.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Concluding,\nHazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In\nevery respect, we must follow the teachings of the Holy Quran and consider it\nour guiding light. We must observe the standards of worship stipulated in the\nHoly Quran. We must act upon the methods of remembrance of Allah that have been\ngiven in the Holy Quran. We must adopt every Quranic instruction to the best of\nour abilities. Then we will attain the rewards and nearness of Allah the\nAlmighty and we will fulfil the rights of our Bai\u2019at (Oath of allegiance) of\nthe Promised Messiah (peace be upon him).\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
